They make an iLO card for it. You can find them for about $60 on Amazon with the basic license.

I was wondering if there are any specific 2.5" adapters that work for this system since the 2 I have from old Corsair SSDs caused my drives not to line up with the backplane connectors. I currently have them installed without any adapters as a temporary measure but I'd rather do it the proper way if possible.

Hi Marco, there is no official supported way to do it. Apparently, it was possible on the Gen8 version , and with a little effort possible on the Gen10 version -probably. Here are a few links from the HPE community and another site. www.virten.net/2017/11/homeserver-esxi-on-hpe-proliant-microserver-gen10/ community.hpe.com/t5/ProLiant-Servers-Netservers/HP-microserver-gen-10-ESXi-and-RAID/td-p/6997328#.XjhXDWhKhhE good luck, and thanks for watching!

I can't seem to find an answer to this question anywhere and am hoping you can answer. The system documentation says it has a max storage capacity of 16TB (4 x 4TB drives). If one adds the HPE Smart Array E208i-p PCIe card, I know more RAID levels are added... but would that card also break the 4TB max drive size limit? I mean 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16TB drives are available these days.

I'm pretty sure the drive cage only has a passive backplane since it lacks additional features such as hot swap.

Hi there Cole, Looks like WOL is supported at lease in the specs it is mentioned. See page 4 of the QuickSpecs here but I will warn you it doesn;t say much else about it.: www.itcreations.com/user-manuals/MicroServerG10/HPE-ProLiant-MicroServer-Gen10-QuickSpecs.pdf Thanks for watching!

Doug, thanks for the great video. Not many appreciate the time, effort and resources that go into creating these type of video work. Anyway, now to my question. I just acquired two of these babies and I am wondering, if I am right assuming I can replace the big SATA Hard Drives with SSDs and load Windows Server 2016. This is for a small company of 5 to 10 users. I am hoping that with the SSDs I can achieve much better performance. Any thoughts on that? I appreciate your attention to this message. By the way, I had the same experience with the HDD screws, LOL!!! a big duh moment!
@Itcreations-LA3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ernesto, Yes, you can install SSDs in this system and you will get better performance to boot! If you want to install 2.5-inch SSDs you will need their drive tray conversion kit. This system is also compatible with Windows Server 2016 so good there too. Here is a link to the quickspecs for more information, page 5 for OS related stuff and Page 9 for storage. www.itcreations.com/user-manuals/microserverg10/hpe-proliant-microserver-gen10-quickspecs.pdf There is also just more information on our page here, check the documentation section: www.itcreations.com/hp/hpe-proliant-microserver-gen10.asp Thanks for watching!
@coolbiscuit9993 жыл бұрын
Ernesto you also dont need the SSD conversion kit. SSD drives are very light, just slot them in and they will stay there. Obviously dont juggle the server or they will fall out, been doing this with the old N40L models forever
@DanielSanchez-vs2pm2 жыл бұрын
i wonder if it support the ssd disk or is compatible with this?
@Itcreations-LA2 жыл бұрын
If it can take regular SATA HDDs then it can take SATA SSDs too. Also, in the media bay for the boot drive. not sure why they don't mention this in the QuickSpecs. Thanks for watching.

Where you pu that graphic card?
@Itcreations-LA4 жыл бұрын
Hi there Naked, There is only one Graphics card that is LISTED as compatible for this system, HPE AMD Radeon Pro WX2100 Graphics Accelerator Q1P47A NOTE: It adds additional graphics power to the native capability of the server as well as providing additional 2 mini-DisplayPort and 1 DisplayPort. Use expansion slot 2 as it supports expansion boards with a physical connector link of up to x16. Both slots are open-ended to support longer connections but slot 2 is recommended. Thanks for watching!

Unfortunately no. The Opteron and Threadripper sockets are not compatible but that would be cool. It would also be completely underutilized in that little chassis. That said, I like the way you think! Thanks for watching!

Hi David, Win 2016 is the latest OS they list in their support matrix. There is a thread on the HPE site saying the Microserver Gen10 is not compatible with Win Server 2019 Essentials, but someone else was able to get S2019 standard working. BTW, what I did not mention in that video is that you can install Windows 10, which if you plan on using it as a server really means nothing… There is actually a Microserver Gen10 PLUS that is compatible with Win Server 2019 but I suppose it is a different animal entirely… community.hpe.com/t5/ProLiant-Servers-Netservers/HPE-Microserver-Gen-10-compatibility-with-Windows-server-2019/td-p/7029610#.YAjWl-hKiUl Thakns for watching! .
