Very cool. I just got into RS4s a few months ago. Now I have 9 of them. Lots of fun, but kind of hard to get parts for. I keep buying parts cars and can't part them. I swear by the Flysky GT5s for range and the all important gyro.

@@a2rc it's the 3.3 model but I'm going to put a 2.5 in it. I'd rather have good handling instead of max speed . Your R40 looks like it handles surprisingly well 👍 for a 1/10 scale.
@a2rc
@a2rc 2 ай бұрын
@@michaelgraham2943 Yep, I love the 1/10 Touring class for cars. This R40 only has a 2.11cc Engine (The 12TZ would be considered the top of the line “club race” engine - right before the formal race “OS Speed” line) - I total get you putting the 2.5 in the 4Tec. I know it’s not the exact same engine but, I personably think the OS 15CV-R has a great balance of power for the a 1/10 chassis. Yes, we can have and I do have other RS4s with bigger displacement engines but, some seem to have more power than needed (if that makes sense). No matter what engine you have, they are always fun and easy to fall in love with 🩷

Simply beautiful,the body is also awesome,remembers me on a proline closed Lola Body which I ran back in days on my V-one RR on that time on the gp pro class .I still remember that it has produced more downforce in comparison to the opened Lola 😅 You should consider to get for such applications a Radio with more range ,like as instance the HOTT Surface Transmitters which are able to be paired with their full range Receivers like the GR12 or for extreme applications GR 16 with the diversity system.I use HOTT for my boats 😉 To be precise ,the X8-E transmitter,but unfortunately they aren’t at the moment available,only the more basic version X8-N,anyway,the range is the same

Very nice! Happy to see this run…been patiently waiting for this one! Curious, what top speed do you think is possible if it was built for speed runs and what changes might be necessary for a speed run build?
@a2rc
@a2rc 2 ай бұрын
@@tegamckinney Hey Tega‼️ I really glad you enjoyed the vid and I always appreciate the support 🩷 Some different/custom drivetrain components would be needed for sure. - The R40 is a solid platform to build a formal speed run car but it is also heavy. There is always going to be trade offs to which chassis you choose. In additional what engine you choose. .12s can have a lot of RPM but, at times do not have enough displacement to power through to higher speeds. Counter to that, larger displacement engines may have the torque but may not get the rpm you need to be really fast. It’s all a balancing act between gearing, rolling resistance, power, aero, etc - On of my many personal goals for my speed formal speed run car is to only use a small block. Anything over 3.0/.18 is a not consider a small block. Somewhere in the future, I’ll discuss my formal speed run car and what I have been able to do/not do. - It takes a lot of work to get over 65+ on a 1/10 touring car with a small block. My personal speed goal would be to get to 100+ but a lot goes into it (one step at a time). Simply finding a location to support the speed is one thing lol let alone build the car to support it. The whole process is a fun challenge to work toward

Great video and awesome engine sound! Have you tried running this engine with 16% nitro? Would it be a dramatic difference in the performance compared to 25%? Have you installed some extra shims to have this engine running so clean with this fuel? Thanks for sharing this amazing footage!
@a2rc
@a2rc 2 ай бұрын
@@lyubennyagulov9012 I have ran the engine with 20 and 25% but not 16% so I’m not sure about that - I would have to measure the shim stack again to tell you for sure but, I think I’m running .3mm. Depending on shimming, the nitro % does affect power to a degree but, there is a working range. Shim stack-up with Nitro % changes could be a future vid topic 💯 - I’m glad you enjoyed the vid and thank you for taking the time to write 🩷

Get rid of those foam tires and get some belted rubber tires 😮😅
@a2rc
@a2rc 2 ай бұрын
@@richardbrown6762 Hey Richard. Thanks for Watchn’ 🩷 Rubber tires maybe an ok option for the parking lot (Depending) but, for the longer runs, foams are definitely the way to go. - Having shore, width options and turning the foams to the diameter I want, is pretty important. In saying that, these were pre-use foams and had a little smaller dia. I bet I could have gotten another mph or so out of the car with a fresh pair. Well maybe next time 😋 Everyone has their experiences and preferences for sure. I have learn over the many years that for my suspension set-ups and majority of places I run, foams are king (I have tried a lot of different things over the years). Rubber may work better where you run 🤷🏻‍♂️ so, I’m defiantly not discounting your exp Thanks for taking the time to write and have a great day 💯

@@LatuzAndrés No problem. I am always happy to talk with other RS4 lovers. Yes, parts can be harder to find at times and it does depend on where you are in the world.
