I just pulled my Pro 3 out of the rafters. I used to race it, and I agree with a lot of the defaults of this car. I regret selling my Pro 2 after I raced this a few times. However my Pro 3 is fully intact and I have found plenty of extra parts in my race boxes. I think I will get a fresh body, find new rims, and it and put it on the shelf. Era wise, I want my Pro 2 back, although my son still has his, so all is not lost.

Nice to get re-acquinted with all your old race stuff, eh? That's a good idea; get her all looking nice, step back and admire! As far as the Pro 2 is concerned... well, you're "Dad", so you out-rank him! Have him deliver it.

He is in his 30's now, and he can proudly admire it, I will not trump him with the dad card. However looking at all the cars we raced 20+ years ago and parts we have brought back some old memories. I have a couple Losi XXX T's that my other 2 boys are wanting to get running. They look new, but what the heck, may as well run them. Not 100% sure I will fire up the T-Maxx, it is basically new, and I guess I should keep it that way, maybe. Would like to see video of your wood track and some racing action. Hang on maybe I should go search your videos, take care.

@@jimdaly5310 Yeah, I started to get nostalgic, whenever I tinker with the old race stuff. Yeah, get them running, why not? They're fantastic trucks. We desperately want to go racing again, but with all the lockdown rules etc... goodness knows when that will be.

I'd buy some 2mm carbon fibre and make a new chassis.....and those cheap bodyshells-they look really nice but they aren't lexan,and can be quite brittle.Reinforce with duct tape or aluminium tape,especially front,arches and body mount locations. Or keep that Honda shell and repaint it. Interesting vid as always.

Oh, you'd go the whole hog, eh? I think I'd try the DIY top deck, first. But we'll race it as HPI intended and see how she gets on. Ah... I didn't realise they weren't lexan. The material wasn't stated in the ad. Oh well, here's hoping it's not too bad!

@@TheRCScotsman I wouldn't worry too much about the bodies,just a heads up that they can be damaged-I have a really nice "Zonda" shell that looks great,and a Renault RS01,they are really well done,but both have cracked along the front valance just from gentle street running-on a track they'll be good but any heavy shunts....reinforce with aluminium tape, Lidl have sold it here where I am for about £1.99 a roll made by 3M,so good stuff,it moulds to the body but is light,well worth using on any body,even Lexans. Like you I do not like the fake nssun type markings but the RS01s are really nice and not mis-spelt,and can be got from Ali Express for about £13,you won't find any on ebay,sold out everywhere.

First video I’ve watched of yours, Run a Pro 3 the same as you’ve got around Christmas time just gone. Very flexible as you said. Luckily I’ve got the Hara version which I haven’t tried. Just recently picked up a Pro 4 Job lot to try also.

Hello and welcome! What sort of surface did you run it on? Oh, I bet the Hara version is nice in the flesh! Did it set you back, much? I understand they're getting pretty pricey. As for the Pro 4, I used to own one; HPI went a completely different direction with that car... it's very stiff.

RCing Around HQ I bought it off a mate of mine years ago, pretty nice car to be fair. I ran the pro 3 at a local little permanent indoor carpet track, been trying a lot of old touring cars lately TC3, Mission, Prepping a Xray T1R and the pro 4 to try.
@TheRCScotsman4 жыл бұрын
Niiiice! I can't speak for the Xray, but the TC3 is good on carpet and the Pro 4 is an absolute weapon!... when it's set-up right. It's an absolute bitch when it isn't!

You mention the stock motor skim, don't you remember the stock lathes that you took the brush hoods off one side to expose the comm and the whole motor can sits inside a mount, I have one by trinity
@TheRCScotsman4 жыл бұрын
I have a comm lathe, by Eagle RC, but that Pink Demon Power motor is not rebuildable. Unless you're meaning some lathe that can reach through the brush mount and work from there, with the end-bell still on?? In which case, I'm not familiar with those!
