At least they are consistent at HPI. Every single little thing that has happened on yours happened to mine as well. Set screw on 2spd, grub screw on drive cup, broken nipple on exhaust, exhaust spring. To a T. Like you said, stupid little things that pop up and screw up the rc sessions. Aggravating at the least. I agree with you, hpi has a strange way of trying to make a come back.

... well slowly fixing all the problems 😅 check if the feel safe is working if it does that means it wasn't the controller disconnecting but either the receiver having problems or some wires are shorting out even in a servo and overloads it

I'm not downing on Hpi but I did had some issues with their radio systems too. I would use spektrum, futaba, or flysky.

Once it took off and made front hit, it spun it for that LR hit in front of the LR tire like a rebound shot. That was the tweaker. Without a doubt you’ll fix it up

All fuel tanks are garbage that must’ve been one hell of a hit. I’ve had a controller go bad on me before but not like that but anyways it’s an awesome video that you put out showing everything

I have 10 HPI Savage trucks in my collection and I must say, the quauity of the parts since it was released is poor. Like you say the new fuel tanks are made from real gabbage plastic the old ones were almost white on colour where as the new omes are almost clear. As for the composite exhausts the new ones just seem to melt at the coupler end, have had 4 melt down on my trucks. Again made from a differnt material, The old ones were dull in colour with an injection moulding mark just above the outlet pipe, the new ones are a shiney finish and don't have the mouling mark. Back in the day the Savage was the king of 1/8 scale monster trucks but HPI haven't done them selves any favors by using cheaper sub-standard parts.

that wa sa brutal run away! damn! At least you got it on video, but terrible. Wonder why, must be a faulty radio or receiver. thing else it can be. Actually do you know if your failsafe is currently set, what happened looked exactly like you had the fail-safe set for full throttle, not reverse. I know for a fact my savage's fail-safe was incorrectly set from the factory.

HQ is in Salt Lake Ut i have the same problem with mine exhaust blew up now the motor is moved it has not run away on me yet maybe that will be next this truck is a pod i paid $840.00 unacceptable i tell you what.

You need to cover that gas tank you get hole from rocks. I no I had that problem

Man, that's a lot of damage. The one rare runway I experienced was caused by a low charged battery that caused a brown out. How was the state of charge on your RX battery? How about the battery condition? The fact that the servo didn't go into failsafe leads me to believe it was the RX battery. Had the failsafe been set wrong from the factory, the engine would have gone full throttle and probably back flipped before it even got half way down the road. I personally run lipo RX batteries but prefer LifePo over NMIH.
