Marty McFly! Love it! Now I gotta decide which to get lmao. I think I definitely gotta get the black in brushless. But man brushed sounds reliable as well. But I do like that the brushless version comes with a seperate light controller and not a 3 in 1 unit like the brushed, and brushless got that extra punch when needed. Brushless is a steal tho for $50 more. Anyway. Love the content Ken! As always, another awesome video! I’m sold on trying out this new mini crawler now. RIP bro their were 12 of us in the water that day and some of the best Spiro's in aus all we could find was one 4ft dive fin a weight belt on the bottom an a 10 ft timber speargun floating away in the current .spent six days in a charter plane looking hoping it might spit him out but nothing lost a top mate that day a true friend.Shawn

Thank you for this video, I am fairly new to the hobby and the depth you went into here was fascinating, watched the whole thing start to finish in my rural village in Yorkshire :) Could I get your thoughts on this car vs. the Evo Pro (brushless versions)? I prefer the appearance of this car, but wonder if the Evo Pro is more capable (given the low frame and portals).

As I mentioned in the video, portals give more slop. Both brushless versions are going to be very comparable. Personally, get the body you like. The are both very good.

@CK4RCАй бұрын
That body mount/rear hinge looks solid. I've gotten pretty tired of seeing Toyota bodies, but this one is a nice addition - the black is pretty killer, especially with the chrome rims...it's just a really nice combo. I would much rather see lights in the light bar instead of turn signals, but that's my own preference (because I think turn signals on RCs are dumb). I agree that I like the soft glow of the headlights, instead of the bright white LED look. Including the thumb wheel is a really nice touch. Unfortunately, it looks like the sloppy drivetrain is still going to be an issue from a couple shots I saw, and the servo seemed slow. All in all though, this looks like a really nice addition to the 1/18 world!
@TheShopMiniRCАй бұрын
I agree. Hate turn signals. Super glad you can turn them off here. I’d trade em for light bar though for sure.

Ohh man. Toughy. Both are great. I love how a brushless drives. I also like that the brushless is all separate electronics. (Esc, light controller, and receiver vs a 3-1). I feel like $50 more is worth it for brushless. Now, if you wanna go through mud and water more… go brushed.

How easy would the light system be to connect to a different transmitter? Is it as easy as taking the lighting unit, plugging it in to my 3rd channel on my new RX and binding that 3rd channel to a new button on my TX? Then all the button presses would just map over just lie on the stock TX?

The best thing about no portals on this truck is it eliminates the slop in the driveline that we notice with the hobbyplus transmission when paired with the portals. Plus keeping the truck lower it performs much better. I’m 100% glad it has no portals myself.
@TrokaRCАй бұрын
@@2fmrc Does slop go away with transmission swap? That's the first thing I like to mod. Nice to see you in the comments by the way. 👍
@2fmrcАй бұрын
@@TrokaRC I think a lot of the slop comes with the portals. Then the transmission has some as well which just all adds up to a good bit overall. I haven’t really swapped the transmission in this or the hobbyplus trucks to know if that helps.
