An interesting tidbit. Motorcycles were used by bootleggers as well as law enforcement during prohibition. When bringing in a load of booze bootleggers would hire motorcycle clubs to ride around the place of where the delivery was to take place then report to the truck drivers where the cops were positioned

Holy crap I totally feel your pain with that hood flub. Just about a few hours before settling down to watch this I was outside the truck spraying the body and sleeper of the AMT International Transtar 4300 Eagle. Sprayed the sleeper...no problems, sprayed the cabin...no problems, started the hood and it falls off the holder and into the grass. Just lovely.

A minor suggestion: it isn’t a rear seat - it’s either a rumble seat or a mother-in-law seat. Great car.
@matthewmoran12494 жыл бұрын
That's a rumble seat, jump seats are in touring cars and limo's. Also, the bike is a Henderson, made in Detroit, and is what the D.P.D. used at the time. Indians had leaf spring girder forks. The side door was for golf bags. Man that brings back memories, I built that when I was a kid. I hope they reissue the two Lincoln's. Great job on the build !

Thanks for your detailed review. I have one of these on order, and I have plans to build a series of Prohibition-themed vehicles, including a modified "Beverly Hillbillies" truck and a converted Model T truck as 'Bootlegger's vehicles.' (I found a picture online of a truck hauling a fake load of lumber, and another of a tanker truck with a hollow compartment!) That motorcycle will go well with the recently re-issued Model T Police Car. I realize that a 1932 Chrysler is a bit "late" for Prohibition (which was repealed in 1933.) But overall, this model captures the "look and feel" of the era, and is definitely something The Mob Boss would drive. Again, thanks!

I really like the way you build and how you emphasize building the model " your" way. I've picked up quite a few valuable tips, including the idea of not trying to super detail everything. The engines and running gear are my favorite part of my builds, so I like to wire the plugs and fuel lines, maybe add some non- stock parts. For example, with the gang busters Chrysler I might add a supercharger to the straight 8, sort of like a " rumrunner". I have this one in my stash, so..I really enjoyed your build of the Jolly Green Gasser and subsequently ordered a copy from AMT which just arrived. Thanks for the alternative outlook and build on, sir, build on. I'll be here watching 👀

Great kit, outstanding build. I always liked that kind of car- reminded me more of locomotives than airplanes, but there you are. I remember as if it was just a day ago when my father built a Duessenberg in 1/25 green and that folks, was a jewel. With the time, I got my own Duessy but in red wine color. Where did it end up? in the hands of one of my nephews and honestly talking, that was one of the most stupid errors of my whole life.
