Got one of these on the way. Extremely rare find in the UK, AMT were never sold here. Went to Cuba and saw many cars of this type there and wanted to build one. I know nothing of American cars of this era, only that they are cool!

She’s an oldie from the early 60s or late 59 remember these on the shelves around 62 or 63 ! Haha yes I’m that old

Surprisingly a nice kit, though. Would have preferred an engine rather than curbside kit.

Put in the effort and you'll be very pleased with this kit. I built two.

Why is it unpainted inside?

I don’t know what you’re talking about
@goforitpainting2 жыл бұрын
@@Kryptosmaster I'm talking about shadows (panel lines with oil washing) and highlights (egde highlighting with drybrush or airbrush). Especially on the seats, but also on the top of the steering wheel, a lighter shade can increase the realism. Just a tip but I welcome your critique on my creations too.

Great job it looks good . Have you ever run across any of the old models that had the electric motor that you had to build and ran off of batteries I remember building some of them though I could never get the motors to work since I was between 6 and 8 years old
@Kryptosmaster2 жыл бұрын
I’ve seen boats with the motors but not cars.

@@Kryptosmaster The cars would have been from the mid 60's I'd like to find one that hasn't been built I now know how to build those motors I built them for HO slot cars and they are the same just different sizes

The paint looks really nice. I have never had much luck with Rustoleum paint. Did you prime it first? Did you polish it at all? How did it come out so nice? Thanks
@Kryptosmaster2 жыл бұрын
Always prime unless I’m just doing flat black on a chassis or something. No polish.

You ended up doing a good job even though your heart wasn't in to it. I would prefer to see the work that you do instead of a detailed review of all the stuff that comes in the box. Final product looks very nice.

Well, I’ve really cut back on going over the contents and instructions but it is a review so I will continue to include that. It’s kind of hard to work on the model while filming, plus I tend to forget to do that until it’s too late (lol) so I try to explain and point out certain things after the fact. Also I rarely work straight through on a kit. Sometimes I’ll have 2 or 3 going at the same time and occasionally months will go by before I return to a kit in progress. I’m lucky if I can remember what I already filmed! 😆

It's looking great, especially the chrome trim. What did you use to do it?

Molotow chrome pen

I would have preferred it not being a “curbside “ kit but yeah, it comes out nice.
