I drove this truck back in the 80's being a cabover it was like sitting in a blender with wheels! It would shake so bad that the headlight buckets would work loose and fall off! Ah the good ol days!😉

I have an original of this kit back when it was an ERTL kit before they merged with AMT. Later today, I'm going to rewatch your parts presentation while I have my old kit to see what the differences and new parts/molds are. I know they were talking about how Round2 retooled the body to be more correct. Model on Chris!

This is the big rig kit I've been waiting for! I built one as a kid when they were released as an Ertl Blueprint kit! Those Ertl kits were the best on the market!

The instructions were first-rate and the kit came with masks for painting the cab with the box-top colour scheme -- included. Congratulations to Round2 for restoring it to its glory -- this kit put AMT and MPC on notice.

I had this kit when I was a kid, the only thing I remember is the different front rim of being of the old style split type rim. the rears were chromed. other than that It did have numbered parts on the trees. the kit it's self is the same. but I had several mods (electrical / air lines) to one and did my own company logo painted by hand. it was the parent to company 7-11 (Southland Corp) also their distributor. my mods were opening cab doors, head, cab clearance, and tail lights, with a lighted dash, along with fog lights. the new kit now is much more with new additions. i also put in carpet (felt) and cloth for the bunk. did more detail to air and electrical lines. for the 5th wheel I used real grease from a real truck. I used the AMT Great Dane 40ft trailer and also did customizing in it too! inside I put in balsa wood, and light able clearance lights with tail. changed the opening doors to a roll up. made a lockable pin for the tandems on the trailer to adjust the tandems. used a rectangle box under the trailer for a the battery to light the truck and trailer together.

I'm not a big fan of green but I bow to the master of the rattle-can paint job -- you are awesome. I was surprised to see you brushing Testers silver enamel. It is great for touching up attachment points on chrome parts -- blowing lightly onto adds to the shine. But it hates drying for ever, and there are so many shades of metallic acrylics. Tip: If you want to hang some wire from the pogo stick to simulate air lines, you can use O gauge airline connectors to simulate the glad-hands. Attach them to the trailer's airlines and you can connect or disconnect them at will.

That's an awesome International cab over model! I believe my dad made this very one when I was a toddler based on his actual tractor he had, I remember it fondly because I played with it like a toy and unwillingly tore it apart. This does look like a nice model to build, I severely struggled on the AMT W 925 kenworth I see you have built one maybe it's a better mold than the Watkins version I had where nothing lined up, a lot of twisted parts and glue pins that hardly existed. I was building the Smokey and the Bandit "Bandit #2" Snowman tractor trailer and practically have the trailer done, the rear end assembly looks awesome! I even built landing gear feet from scratch styrene. Thank you for your incredible model building videos!

Add my best wishes for your birthday too! May you do these videos for another 30 years! Chris, I stopped at 11:00 just to comment (oh, you better know, I'm going to watch the WHOLE vid). I agree with you 100%...THIS is a great first-glue-big-rig kit. I built the original waaaay back in the late 70's and just loved how easy it went together. I am so glad that @Round2 #Round2 bought these kits back for us older modelers (this particular one, I'm planning on a minimum of 3, possibly 4 kits). I really appreciate the re-do of NOT having chromed this that should NOT have been, as you pointed out, makes it so much more easy to build/paint for a more realistic finished product. Thank you for this (an all your) review and also....HAPPY 44!! Now, if you'll excuse me...I'm going back you your video...see ya!

Chris, enjoyed your build on this International Transtar. My father-in-law drove one of these back in the 1970's. Pittsburgh to Chicago with a flat bed of steel. Hoped to build a tribute to him till I saw the price of the kit. I realize there is a lot of cost on mold development but $62.00 just seems a little expensive. Guess watching your build will be as close as I get to this rig! Keep building your way; and I'll watch and enjoy. Happy Birthday!

Otherwise I looked it over it was a trip back in time . Great build of a beautiful truck. I've watched a lot of different guys put kits together and I've 𝑛𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 heard anyone sound this impressed with the quality of the kit. It's about forty years since I did any kit-building but a product like this makes me want to get back into it. Too often, we see folks wrestling with ill-fitting parts and badly designed assemblies. Everyone seems to accept this as normal but these kits ain't cheap and should 𝒂𝒍𝒍 be to this standard. Congratulations to AMT on producing something that people 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 and doing it properly.👍👌😁

I laughed so hard at you moving gearshift to lower cab. 1985. Dad brings home brand new Emeryville. Says to brother and I Leave the truck alone. I'll be back in an hour and show it to you." 15 year brother says "I got this." We get the cab up, do our examination and lower the cab without putting the stick through the hole. Dad was sooo mad! That was the only sibling that didn't go to work in the family trucking business. I plan to buy this kit as my first kit. Retired after 42 years of trucking.

The reason it's the nicest AMT kit is because even though AMT acquired Ertl, they never produced this kit from it's original release and only because Round 2 released it they had to use the AMT logo instead of the Ertl name due to licensing rights, but growing up, I remember when a $5.00 bill would get you any Ertl kit and Yellow Front Store in Phoenix Arizona always had them on sale for $3.50, mowed alot of yards to buy all the Ertl and AMT truck kits.
