Just purchased one of these as well.. for sure a beginner but I have done a little tuning with piggybacks and diablosport but this is completely new. Will be tuning my 2014 ZL-1 with a few bolt-one. I just purchased the pro-link cable and I want to run it to my Aeroforce Scan gauges wideband but not a lot of info on that out there.

Man I almost ordered a 2 plus right when the 3 came out but I’m still using the 2 and it’s doing it’s job up to around 180 credits . But thank you brother I’m jealous . Oh yeah I had to move and stay with the stable had some crazy issues on a customers project. So that’s good advice but the beta is cool . I miss it lol .

I almost ordered my first MPVI, and I wanted MPVI2+ luckily it wasn't in stock, now I have for MPVI3 to be in stock in Europe as there is none here yet

Love your videos man! They are very informative and help tons! I am going to have to get one I guess because my mpvi2 that I used 4 or 5 times quit working and hp tuners told me that there is nothing they can do and I have to buy a new one and they wouldn't help me. I can't afford a holley terminator x or I would be going with that. So in my opinion if you can afford holley definitely get that instead of hp tuners!!

looking forward to more content with this. I'm considering upgrading if it makes getting the wideband setup a lot easier for a gen3 5.3...using the adapters, usb cables to serial is such a hassle. Is it also easier to setup in HPtuners?

Great video man, I was going to upgrade my MPVI2 to the MPVI3 the other day but as of right now HPTuners website says upgrades are currently not available unfortunately. Not sure why, haven't heard anything. But I knew I should have jumped on it a few months ago. BTW, Just upgraded from 3.73's to 4.10's with a Detroit Truetrac. Think the Trans Trans Tool by Bluecat is sufficient enough? I've used it before without issues. But that was just for changing tire size. As a side note, my MPVI2 came with a USB Drive that attached my HPTuners keychain to. Because for sure that would vanish without a leash..lol

Do you have any experience tuning Ford with HP? Specifically mod motors? I've been watching your videos for a few weeks now after finding you channel and its been a great help to me, but not everything from the Chevy platforms directly translate to Ford. Currently working on trying to figure out my high idle issue I've been dealing with. Thank you for the great content for those of us trying to learn!

I'm old school, this is my first scanner/ tuner. Starting to get into it, Looking for a place to find Base Logs. gen 3 and 4's . Just want to understand where things should be versus where they are. any suggestions?

Do you need the prolink+ cable to log wideband if you have the AEM 03-0300 and a newer car with canbus? Put another way, can I simply connect the AEM wideband CAN H,L wires to existing canbus line and the MPVI3 will be able to pick it up?

Got my MPVI3 and it is a paperweight. Unable to read/write to my PCM. Unfortunately, package is open so it is not returnable. Customer support recommends that I purchase a GM Tech2 or a J2534 device (about $600) to flash my PCM so that I can use their product to...flash my PCM. With the amount of people on the forums seeing a "Detect Protocol Failed" error, you'd figure they would address it.

You can refresh the interface and it works fine? When I get a detect protocol failure I usually swap usb ports or reboot the computer and it goes away. I’ve noticed issues on newer vehicles can also be solved by making sure you have a good connection to the internet when trying to read or write.

Purchased an hpvi2 a while back and purchased a few universal credits but cannot get it tune my 2004 silverado 5.3.... I need to also delete vats out of a 2005 silverado 5.3 ecm for a project but cannot get it to. It reads codes and shows the live data but other than that I can't do anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated

On the 04 pull the radio fuse. If it has an aftermarket radio. For whatever reason they don’t like them.

I am confused on how HP tuners works, do you buy the dongle and then have to pay for credits to HPT to flash your ECM for any changes. I have a H2 and I was gonna get this to hook to a laptop and turn the fans on in the ECM. Not sure if that would be something I could do for free with the tuner dogle?

Correct, you need credits to unlock the tune, once you license an ecm/vin # you can write to it multiple times.

Just follow the GRG videos. He has them listed from beginning to end. From one beginner to another. I've tuned a few vehicles now.

Purchase his layouts also. It makes it easier to follow along. You will have a real good base to start with. Then do yourself a favor and read everything you can about tuning.

I would love to upgrade but until they do an upgrade program like they did with the 2, it's not going to happen. And if they never do that, I guess I'll use my 1 Pro until they don't support it anymore.

Bud i love your videos and you have helped me tremendously and i appreciate it but did you get paid for ths haha, the 3 loses ford eecv and couple other things, ghe only thing i see is the no laptop logging with accelerometer, its like snap-on update to vehicles that are warranted to lose older stuff you need

New software 5.x update removes emission deleting capabilities and ability to turn rear o2 post cat sensors and a few other things. So if your doing LS swaps or such things. Be warned... Lucky I keep all my downloads and could revert back.

I'm actually really annoyed that Pro is included now, I worked hard to be able afford the prolink set for the mpvi2, now it's completely pointless, I could have waited a couple more months and got an mpvi3 Also, does the standalone data logging retain the correct time and date now? It was pretty hard on the 2 to navigate what logs were what, as all the dates were in 1980, and out of order

😂 the mpvi3 don’t work with TDN app in iOS 16.0.2 devices. Confirmed with HPtuner Customer service department. A blue/gray paperweight in my storage box after they refuse refund because the device work in PC. 😂😂😂😂
