Jane Powell is one of my favorite actresses/singers. When I discovered this movie I absolutely loved it and wrote Jane a fan letter. She was so very kind. She send me a lovely autographed photo and a note which I still have to this day. Thank you Jane for all the wonderful memories and your wonderful acting!

How well I remember watching this movie and being thrilled, entertained, and envious. Nowadays it's wonderful to remember that they made REAL musicals with real talent.

The talent of this great lady is unmatched; as an actress, she often rose above dated and somewhat saccharine screenplays, and then, there was that voice over which Jane was even astounded!

Give me chills how beautiful her voice was 💕

I remember seeing this scene as though it were yesterday, sitting in the middle section of seats at the Granada Theatre in Santa Barbara, CA. It was around this same time -- not exactly but around that time -- that I saw another musical spectacular, "Ziegfeld Follie 1946." And during this timeframe dramatic soprano Helen Traubel was also a feature of the musical and a favorite of mine (Sigmund Romberg's, "Softly as in a morning sunrise).

Oh that's a wonderful memory. I think I may be wrong but didn't Jerry Lewis use Helen Traubel to somewhat comic effect in one of his movies.

The opera singers should learn from her - the tone is pure as well as the diction.

This movie is actually dreck. Very stupid. I could never figure out why Jane Powell was given so many crappy roles. Really!!

She reminds me of Reese Witherspoon except I don't think Reese has that voice.
