How to return to "normal life" after the war. Experience of a veteran and a potter / hromadske

"Veterans need understanding of what they went through and acceptance of them as ordinary people. And help to get them back to normal life. Although after the war, a normal life is very difficult," says Volodymyr Dovgan, a potter and veteran of the Donbas war from Kyiv region.
The man was convinced by his own experience that every military man needs rehabilitation and psychological recovery after returning from the front.
"Pity kills. Why pity him? Is he weak? Is he weaker and worse than you? Pity is humiliating", Oksana Dovgan, Volodymyr's wife, points out mistakes in communication with veterans.
Volodymyr and Oksana founded the pottery workshop "Dovgan-art" to conduct art therapy for war veterans and classes for children.
"The workshop brought him back home," says Oksana about the influence of clay and the potter's wheel not only on the physical, but also on the psychological return of the man to civilian life. It took about half a year.

Знаєте що я зрозуміла ? Що жінки наших військових не менш мужні , сильні духом люди. Мабуть треба бути дуже терплячою та дуже сильно наповненою любовью до свого чоловіка,щоб щось прощати чоловікові і розуміти його та його психологічний стан. Бо мені здається не кожна витримає травмовану людину після війни .
