I am so excited to hear this piece live later this month! The Minnesota Orchestra is playing this along with Holst’s planets - should be a fantastic show!

I heard this live with the MN Orchestra today and was spellbound by not only the soloist but also the demand on the orchestra as well. I brought my 14 year old son to hear the Planets, but this was equally captivating. We were both mesmerized by this performance.

Now I need some oxygen! I didn't dare to breathe during the entire piece. Absolutely captivating from the first note on. Outstanding performance. And what a colourful composition. Whoever gave this a thumbs down has neither heart nor brain nor ears.

I LOVE how witty this is! The interplay between the soloist and the orchestra is so playful! It feels like a contemporary relative of Mozart's 5th violin concerto or Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini!

HOW? Those pieces have melodies instead of the Crazy Bus music.

Somebody can tell me what kind of musical instrument is the SHENG . Obviously is wind instrument, but is modern one?; Is it a traditional instrument?; Is it a modern form of a traditional instrument. At any case, the work is a very atractive music, modern music. Dima Slobodeniuk is a very good conductor and the hr Sinfonier is a gret orchestra. The soloist is so strange to me as strange is the instrument he plays. I insist, is very good modern music, a sycretism of occidental and oriental music and especially a caress for ears.
@harrypetersp3 жыл бұрын
Sheng is a traditional Chinese woodwind instrument. The Sheng that this soloist used is slightly modified by adding keys to ease playing.
