So chaotically intricate. Even the jumbled noises are perfectly articulated and rehearsed to perfection. Really impressive can’t imagine how much they practice.

Atmospheric, contemplative, and intense, this is music to get lost in rather than to lose yourself in. It's a disquieting work, but also a glowingly beautiful one. Violinist Kochanovsky gives a brilliant and beautiful performance that seems to do full justice to this excellent Vasks Concerto.

It is contemporary. Sibelius after 50 years was still considered new when gitlis played in ny. We're luckier today to hear this so easily on the net. Can tell this will likely becoming a star 🌟 among the greats soon enough though,it has pathos of our time. Would like to know it's background and meaning of title?

This was a great performance, his interpretation really brought to life some of the despair and anguish that I think is easily overlooked or omitted in other recordings I've listened to before. Also, the highly collegial fistbump among professionals really adds to the magic of this video for kind of bringing the emotions back to an okay place after such a heart-rending piece, kudos to the camera crew and editors for catching that priceless moment. Possibly the best fistbump in orchestral contemporary classical music history ever to be witnessed on camera haha

Now that this work is so firmly established in the repertoire it is wonderful to hear it 'straight' and not with Kremer's stamp on it through new eyes and musicianly discipline. Credit to Kremer that he was breaking new ground but this concerto needs more air and silence than was available then. Great concertos sort of grow into their own space and this is one of the greatest.

Great concerto, great performance. I thought I wouldn't like it, because I usually like only the first performance that I hear and in case of that concerto it was obviously Kremer, but this one is also great. I can't remember how I got to know about it, probably when I was looking for the info about Soviet avant-garde composers like Silverstrov, Pärt and Gubaidulina.
