You did a great job making that faucet fit. I had that problem one time, and i ended up cutting the wall and pushing the top into the wall and then the counter top had like 3/4 over hang in the front.

Nice. I find that many faucet fixtures that I have bought from amazon have to be torqued down alot and thick teflon tape has to be used or else they are prone to leaking. When buying places like home depot I havent had that problem.

Those hoses behind wall???
@Daddicated8 ай бұрын
Yes.
@kennnova Жыл бұрын
You can't service those hoses once the drywall is complete. This doesn't seem to be up to code. Connection hoses aren't intended to be put into a wall.
@Daddicated Жыл бұрын
So it has to be hard piped instead?
@kennnova Жыл бұрын
I would think so. There are rubber gaskets in those connection hoses that have a usable life of like 5 years. But a copper NPT adapter to the copper water line would be one way. If that rubber gasket failed behind that drywall you may not notice for some time. Mold and other damage would be very expensive to deal with.
@merlin0152 Жыл бұрын
@@Daddicated It appears like a considerable amount of work and effort was done on this project. For that, I salute you. But, after all this and the prospect of the connection hoses posing a real long-term threat being behind the drywall, externally mounted faucets are probably looking pretty good right about now.
@Daddicated Жыл бұрын
@@kennnova Very valid point. However, I did use teflon tape and pipe goop for extra measure, you don't think that will help?

You're getting tons of "free advice" on here. 😂 Some tips I might add for the drywall work: I personally prefer fiberglass mesh tape for smaller stuff like this, I just find it easier to work with. Put on the mud sparingly and thinly. Then use a wide drywall knife to smooth it. It'll look crappy on the first layer or two. Let that thin layer dry, maybe sand it only a little and very lightly. Then apply another thin layer, let it dry, repeat. Sand lightly after the last couple of layers and maybe use a straight edge like a level or a yardstick to check how even the surface is. it'll be money. Then add texture if you want. It'll be completely unnoticeable once painted.

This seems to be a common problem. I just ran into the same issue with my bathroom sink. There has to be some sort of extender you can buy. I would be interested to know if anyone knows, it has to be 1/2 npt. The only other solution is to buy a longer spout, the closest one I found is for a tub filler which is around 11" and would be too long for me.
@Daddicated Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it was a pain in the butt. I don't think I'll do another in wall sink to be honest.
@nagesh7314 Жыл бұрын
These spouts are meant for counter top basins, not below the counter ones. The water flow should reach near or on the drain of basin for best result.
@Daddicated Жыл бұрын
Yeah, we didn’t want to get a basin. But it’s all good.
@nagesh7314 Жыл бұрын
@@Daddicated Try to fix a flexible spout with shower head. That will solve your problem and add as additional function as well.

Never install hoses in a wall.... How are you going to change the rubber gaskets when they go? Should have hard pipped it with PEX or copper.
@Daddicated11 ай бұрын
I think I’ll have to cut my closet drywall open to access the hoses and redo it. Stay tuned that will be a video in the future. 😜
@moral1911 ай бұрын
Yeah if you put an access behind, you will be fine. Just always remember to have something in place for failure. Even with a access door we tried to avoid it because it's not appealing to a customer. Mind you where something needs access it is what it is. 👍

I wouldn't take it down, but maybe insert some short clips to explain more mistakes. You did a great job, and actually, seeing your mistakes may well be more valuable than watching a pro do it perfectly. Just make sure you point all all of them, now that you know more. You clearly worked hard on this video and I appreciate it.
@KatrinaGonzalez-z8g Жыл бұрын
Oh my, you need to rough in the plumbing for wall mounted faucets. This isn't the way to install these kinds of faucets. The connector hoses get old and fail over time and now you have no access to switch out the hoses unless you cut into the drywall.
@Daddicated Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I realized that a bit too late after posting this video and many pointing this out. The nice thing is the back wall is my master closet so I probably will have to get in there and repair it in the future before something bad happens.

@@Daddicated installing braided lines inside the wall. Those lines will fail and leak inside the wall in about 3 to 6 years. If your water pressure is low they can possibly last longer .
