Fun fact: I saw them the day their following album released at a small show in Nashville. Prolly about 20-30 people in attendance. They played this whole album plus their two then-new singles. At the end of the set, we were all clamoring for an encore. “One more song! One more song!” we raved. But the band was already breaking down and dispersing. By the time I stopped chanting, I felt a nudge at my side as someone squeezed in. This individual renewed the fire of the crowd, screaming the loudest, “ONE MORE SONG!!! ONE MORE SONG!!!” He then turns to me and asks, “Why won’t they play one more song?!?” I look, and it’s their singer.

xxEarthx I'm a huge fan of both bands, and I feel that they are both excellent. like comparing apples and oranges, both are tasty fruit, but both have their own good and bad qualities. TDH and HRVRD are both amazing and deserve love, not blind comparisons with no substance.

Conceptually? Come on hipster you can't even talk about music like that, nobody really ever gets the concept or whether or not there even is a concept besides the artist who is creating the art themself. That's the whole point of self expression, there's no point in over analyzing anyone but yourself. The dear hunter is amazing musically but I like harvard more because they just flow more and have an incredible flexibility that the dear hunter will probably never have because they are simply different people.
