HS Kids Trying to Throw Shintaro in Randori! | I Visited Mililani High School Judo Team in Hawaii

I visited Mililani High School Judo Team in Hawaii, and I was able to do some Randori with a state champion for girls and some tough boys on the team! I was impressed by their fighting spirits in their training atmosphere!

Love your foot sweeps, you make it look easy, those kids had a great lesson. I’ve always felt that I learn more from either, being a good uke, or loosing, than I do from winning. My first senseis were from Pearl City.

Great video! I love how you give them a fair challenge, enabling them to use their techniques on a more experienced judoka. Have you also talked with them about how they can improve afterwards? In general a core principle was used to deliver your throws: Let them walk towards you and then intercept. Your first sparring partner had a solid stance. The others got thrown because they let you break their posture by pulling their jackets and moving. I think talking with your sparring partner afterwards about how you used their inaccuracies is very important :)

Great video. I don't remember seeing so many trips during one Randori video, amazing. At 1:03 the girl did an entry to a turn throw (not sure which one ), and then tried quickly the Ouchi-Kouchi combo with a very nice speed. Of course, you stopped it easily, but it seemed very nicely done.

@@stoob808 in judo high school in hawaii the competitors don’t wear their color belt. Because by rule they have to wear a white GI and they either have to wear a white or blue belt to tell who’s who when fighting

theyre not white belts, they just wear it to differ between fighters. They seem like brown or black belt level.
