Anything much happening up at Finmere? At some point they have to remove the GCR embankment and dig the cutting. I suppose that until the new alignment for the Buckingham Road is ready to rock not a lot will change in this area. The bricked-up arch to the platforms is probably safe for a few more months/years.

And there's your answer to why these projects take decades and cost tens of billions. Watch this video - how many people do you see doing anything? There was the odd excavator being driven around. No workers. No movement. No progress. But yet, these contractors seem to rake in billions for this. It may be a Sunday, but no excuse - finish the thing off!! It's the same with motorways - central reservation barrier projects that take years to complete, with not one worker on site. The whole thing stinks.
