As "Joesrustbuckets" said, D.O.C. means "depth of cut." Jobs like your padlock repair are nearly always worth trying to fix, because you've got nothing to lose by trying and ~20£ to save. I typically will try to make similar repairs because when something is broken already, I've got nothing to lose by trying to fix it!

We bought a Stihl Lithium Ion powered chainsaw (circa £500) and its an excellent tool. Keep it oiled and those branches will be down in minutes. Last years rain has resulted in doubling tree heights.

Interesting on Statutory Rights, ref B & Q service, I prefer Wickes, B & Q always seems to have dusty products, probably just didn't seal the concrete floor properly, where the Wickes always pain theirs. Plus B & Q will sell you a lawn mover for £50, but £ 5 for a 13 Amp plug. I recently tried B & Q for some paint, very little manufactures selection, all top end , no B & Q own label (which was not very good), I think Wickes paint is manufactured by Johnson's? Rant over. I used a local builders supplies called Carvers of Wolverhampton, top quality service and selection. Nice mixed batch video. Could DOC be "Depth of Cut.

Hi Paul, Im guessing D O C stands for depth of cut Im just getting back into machining, from my college days, I'm currently getting tooled up and will be restoring some machines in the future, as regards the repair on the handle, it looked to be around 1mm wall thickness and for that I would say amps should have been around 50 to 60, I do a lot of welding in this thickness, so talking from experience, always enjoy old tools sections,nice Jag👌

Good stuff! I believe DOC is Diocese of Carlisle. Or something like that.

Hey Paul, great video. As far as I’m concerned, you could make a video of yourself watching TV. I think I would watch it. My wife would say we have a Bromance at least one sided one. Always appreciate your time Kimber.

Hi Kimber, here in the UK we have a TV program called Gogglebox which is literally just watching families watching TV and making comments. You probably have something similar. It's very popular (strangely). Cheers

Hi Paul, A great selection of odd jobs. Your workshop now has studio level lighting especially with that carefully angled ceiling!! We do expect an update video showing the eventual demise of your hoe ........ but you will have to show your grandson how to use it and film it first. I'm giving it a proper life time guarantee!! That sandblaster looks great a very useful thing to have👍👍 Some great finds in the autojumble and nice gifts from Olly. Mr Factotum too. Lots of variety very enjoyable to watch. Have a great weekend

Lock you might look for a pack of 4 keyed alike. You get 3 spares, and 8 keys, so you can use the other 3 in places that need a lock to show it is closed.

The cutters should have a number first, such as 50 D.O.C. That would be a '50mm depth of cut' cutter. Not sure I'd have bothered with the padlock, you have more patience than me! Dean.

Good morning Paul, just a friendly word of warning, ceramic wool is very bad for your lungs worse than fibre-glass up there with asbestos! Wear a mask when installing it and avoid getting it in the air,don't prod it with your fingers, something everybody wants to do when they see it!I a high heat application, the dust is apparently fused so if you don't touch it no dust. to create a hard skin that protects you and the ceramic wool, paint on Sodium silicate, which hardens in contact with the CO2 in the air and provides a heat resistant thin crust! All the best Matthew

At my local Aldi they had some of those clamps for £2.99, but that might not be available everywhere. Yes I bought a few.

I bought a good number of those Aldi clamps when they had them in. I think that I wasted 3 quid or whatever on each one. Would have been better saving the money and putting it to Bessey clamps.

@@billdoodson4232 as they will be abused in use, for the price, I'm prepared waste 3 quid and consider them disposable.

If only there was a way to remake that ferrel using thicker material and then weld it on. 😉 I think DOC might be Depth of Cut?

Hi Greg, yes I could have but I was wanting a quick fix with limited effort (not worth more). My trees reminded me of your trees (and your costs) - hence my DIY ladder gymnastics to keep it cheap. In the wind it reminded me of the scene from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon where they are leaping from tree to tree in the bamboo forest (actors on wires). I really like that movie, I must watch it again soon. Cheers

Hey Paul! Another fun video! So pardon my ignorance, but is an auto jumble the same as what we call a flea market here in the US? Crappy customer service is not unique to any particular country - I feel your pain on that one!
@HaxbyShed
@HaxbyShed 3 күн бұрын
Hi Russell it is a kind of large flea market but it runs the first Saturday of every month. The number of stalls depends on the time of year and the weather. Most of the sellers are professional and they do a circuit of markets. Auto and motorbike parts are a big feature but also general tools (new and old), and machining tools. It's pot luck what you can find but there are some real bargains if you are patient. Here is the website. www.rufforthautojumble.com/ Cheers
