Congrats to the Korean ladies who won the last finale event. Even though Lee is 30 years old, she shows lots of energetic, powerful swings and attacks. I like this pair!!!
@dtdyvrАй бұрын
love both these teams, especially Matsuyama/Shida, but given that Baek/Lee defeated Liu/Tan, who seemed so strong and set to steamroll their way to the title, I think they were stronger today and definitely deserved the win. congratulations Baek and Lee. Lee So Hee is such a great player, and was instrumental in their semifinal victory...

Lee So Hee, according to the commentators, made a history by winning this event twice with two different partners and also becoming one of the oldest players to do so at age 30. She could probably still play competitively for five more years if she is able and willing.

Chinese Matusyama and Shida supporter here. So sad they were defeated by the Korean pair again 😢 Matusyama definitely needs some break as so many mistakes from her. Hope the 2 month break helps her. The not so successful 2024 is finally done for Matus and Shida. Wish them a better year in 2025.

I don’t know what game you watched, but Koreans just kept Shida in backcourt and kept pounding her till she floated shots that put her partner in trouble.

@ yes, I know! What I’m saying is Shida kept making poor shots that put her partner in trouble. The Koreans keyed on Shida, they played her 85% of the time, till she made an error. She flits around the court smiling and patting hands but makes wrong shots. You said Matusyama was making mistakes, but I’m saying it was Shida, that’s why I’m saying did we watch the same game, I’m being facetious.

대한민국 만세! Congrats to Lee/Baek for the marathon match victory. I still believe, as Steen (Stijn?) commented, there is generally a lack of natural front players, especially from Korea. Oem Hye Won is the most recent natural front player that I can recall, but lacked strength in smash for WD success.

Glad Korea won. They at least tried to hit to the net a few times and attack low. Womens doubles is so far behind mixed doubles in entertainment, its not even funny,

Matsuyama n shida should learn n focus more on smashes instead of playing drop shot all the time especially matsuyama n that's why they lose every finals n semi finals. Very annoying while watching them playing drop shots. Just smash it like the Koreans.
@avanpiper20 күн бұрын
That tactic worked for them when playing against other pairs, it's one of Nami's skills, she's the playmaker and smart in hunting for gaps. On her good day, she's able to execute great shots. I think because these two pairs have played against each other so often that Baek/Lee's able to read their shots. Also someone pointed out that the slow shuttle condition didn't help Shida/Matsu. Shida also mentioned in post-match interview that they had wanted to speed up the gameplay, but couldn't. I'm hoping they can catch up with their nemesis Baek/Lee and Liu/Tan this year now that ChenJia's out of the picture (for now).

Normally I would say that Shida let down Matsuyama again.. but this match Matsuyama absolutely played really bad and Shida's game was on point.

I think you meant Shida, but why are you accusing her of showboating? How did she showboat in this match? All I saw was Shida playing her ass off to win.

@@superyt4ever Watch! The Koreans kept her in backcourt and hit to her 85% of the time till she hit in the net or floated it and Koreans hit down on matsuyama! Actuality look at it technically rather then Shida is the pretty one the camera follows. Obviously a guy as camera man!
