In July 2023, a unique competition took place at SQUARE at HSG, in which the planned EU law on artificial intelligence was tested using AI applications. 12 teams from various disciplines took part to test the practicality of the law and developed suggestions for improvement. The event was of great benefit to both the technology companies and the participants, as it provided legal assessments and deepened understanding of the practical application of the law. The event also attracted media interest and received wide, positive coverage. Prof. Dr. Thomas Burri's project is one of the winners of the HSG Impact Award 2024.

Der EU A.I. Act und die Grand Challenge
Im Juli 2023 fand im SQUARE der Universität St.Gallen (HSG) ein einzigartiger Wettbewerb statt, bei dem das geplante EU-Gesetz zur künstlichen Intelligenz anhand von KI-Anwendungen getestet wurde. 12 Teams aus verschiedenen Disziplinen nahmen daran teil, um die Praxistauglichkeit des Gesetzes zu testen und Verbesserungsvorschläge zu erarbeiten. Die Veranstaltung war sowohl für die Technologieunternehmen als auch für die Teilnehmer von großem Nutzen, da sie rechtliche Einschätzungen lieferte und das Verständnis für die praktische Anwendung des Gesetzes vertiefte. Die Veranstaltung erregte auch das Interesse der Medien und erhielt eine breite, positive Berichterstattung. Das Projekt von Prof. Dr. Thomas Burri zählt zu den Gewinnern des HSG Impact Awards 2024.
