Herrscher of Ice is a totally different character. She was originally Ana Schariac who was a Valkyrie in the elite unit under Durandal's command. She fell to the Honkai because she abandoned a child.to die because she was scared and that failure weighed her down enough she went through a Honkai Cascade and became a Herrscher.

To those who played both, is there an in lore correlation between the similarities of hsr and hi3 characters or is it just a design choice and its simply an entire different universe with no connection? I only just got into hsr and haven’t played hi3 (yet). Also, Ik Welt is from the hi3 universe and that Acheron has some weird parallel to hi3.

Some similarities are only based of design but different person (Cocolia Ice ≠ Ana, Acheron ≠ Raiden Mei). Some similarities name or design but different person (Bronya ≠ Bronya Apho, Sushang ≠ Li Sushang). One has the similarity that based of design and name that is actually the same person (Welt = Welt). In short, yes and no depending on which character.

HSR Seele is actually based on Houkai Gakuen 2 Seele they look pretty much the same except HSR is more colorful. also more characters that are similair: Griseo - clara (not appearence but they both have a robot protector, walk barefoot, same va and are little) Bailu - (ELF) Bella (little, purple hair, dragon, lightning dmg, heals)
