God has spoken to me so many times when I was reading His Word. He has spoken to me so bold and clear when I open the bible and just randomly read here and there. HE is So Good! He has also led me to do random acts of kindness by leaving inspirational cards and notes with scripture on peoples car doors and at peoples front doors and mailboxes. It is so so fun and a blessing. He is so so GOOD.

Well, Nicky, you are a lucky guy! I, and many others, have devoted our lives to trying to hear God through the Bible, and never heard God. I went to seminary, and got a Masters in Theological Studies, then went on and got an MA in religious studies (biblical studies), learned Hebrew and Greek, and then went on to a different university for a PhD in biblical studies. Never heard God through the bible. The most difficult text for me is the Gospel of John. I hate, hate, hate it. I have had a direct encounter, actually several, with what I consider "God", but it's not the God of the Gospel of John. I'm not sure if I am what you would call a "Christian". I do belong to, and am active in, a very liberal church, the United Church of Canada, where there are many like me who can't stand orthodox Christianity. I tried for most of my adult life to make the bible and orthodox Christianity work for me, but it just doesn't, and now I'm 68. You people who find that it does work for you are very, very lucky, and I envy you.

Why are all the Alpha speakers on God's guidance, giving almost the same insight and methods? Their presentations are almost identical.
@GARYWERSLEY4 жыл бұрын
..Mark.. you ask, why are all Alpha speakers giving the same identical speeches? probly because, same as JW's, they all get there info from one central place, one HQ.. Alpha HQ, which tells them what to say, and how to say it.. Alpha HQ is probly HTB Church in London.. HTB probly sends out written scripts for preachers to read from.. I have done the Alpha course myself a few times, and last time was actually told to leave, because I was a bad influence and disruptive.. I asked awkward questions.. I am a student of the Bible, but not a believer.. I also love churches, am a regular church goer.. one thing I notice about Alpha courses is the lack of Crosses.. they speak of Jesus, but without any of the visual signs of his suffering.. it seems that the cross is banished from Alpha.. notice the alter and other church paraphernalia behind the speaker here, in this video.. I find this more interesting that what he speaks about.. when you see most modern preachers today, look for the sign of the cross...

@@GARYWERSLEY i agree with you,it looks like alpha centers around one person(nick gamble) and the organisation itself,they need to answer directly the questions that the gests asks, but they are so limited in their answers.To me the liders of alpha earns by the numbers of people that gets baptized or something like that.Its a business this whole thing

@@susanab3831 ..Susana.. religion has always been good business.. a money making opportunity.. misguided people preaching nonsense to the deluded.. but I have noticed that the Cross seems to have disappeared from Christian worship, and more emphasis is now placed on receiving the supposed Holy Spirit.. ..those poor deluded people.. lost...

@@GARYWERSLEY not all religion is bad,for example the one i go u dont have to give money and if u do is for usefull things,like pay water bill ,electricity,taxes etc of the church,and no one will know how much u give,and there there is doctrine

@@GARYWERSLEY The fisical crosses doesnt mean anything,they should preach the true,and not good speach so can brainwash people,and take money from them.God used to tell people off for doing bad and this days its seems people are scare ,when u mention heaven and hell

.. he talks about the Elect, which means that long ago, even before time began, God choose some, and rejected others.. Election, means those who shall be saved.. that is Salvation, those not chosen are condemned, even before they are born.. the Bible tells us that God hated Esau even before he was born, Jacob I love, Esau I hate.. how can that be? was it because Esau had red hair, was a ginger? God knew this, even before he was born! we are told that God chooses some and rejects others, not because of merit, but because of His sovereign pleasure.. because He can.. in the Bible we are told that 'God made these choices before the foundation of the world'. see the epistle to Ephesians.. this must mean that there is no such thing as free will, there is only God's Will.. Esau had no choice, because God had predestined his fate, before he was born.. what kind of Justice is this? were is the Love?
