I've had this phone for a couple months now. At the time I was thinking between the Moto Z force, galaxy s7 and this. Needless to say, I chose the 10 and I love it. It doesn't do anything spectacular, but what it does do, it does perfectly. Very reliable piece of hardware.

Personally, the HTC M7 did it right with the surface-interface: Front-facing dual-speakers while maintaining the capacitive buttons at just the right spot (where the HTC logo is). M8 and M9 was less efficient with this process, annoying fans with its wasted screen real estate. I'm honestly just wondering if the HTC 10 would have sounded better if it had front-facing dual-speakers. Otherwise it the best HTC phone to date.

Dang. Close to stock Android, expandable memory, decent camera, good battery life, unlockable bootloader, good HTC update schedule, right size, fingerprint scanner, slight water resistance, and it's sold unlocked. The only thing missing is a removable battery but nothing except the disappointing G5 has it. This is a damn fine phone, and probably the one I'm going to get when my Nexus 6P dies. Unless the new Nexuses this year blow me away, that is.

I've been waiting to return to HTC for a long time, mainly being kept away by the camera. The thing is it's not worth upgrading from my G4 to any of this year's flagships (maybe not to next year's, too) although if i had to pick a phone right now it would probably be the 10, even though i really like the G5, whereas i would've picked the Samsung or LG flagship the last 2 years. I live in Taiwan and preordered the HTC 10 on the 14th of April. It just arrived today. I am very very very pleased. This is an AMAZING phone! 1. The build quality is supreme. Absolutely seamless. Feels fantastic. 2. The screen has deep darks and vibrant colors. 3. Boomsound from 2 speakers is back baby! It sounds BETTER than on my M7! You have to make sure you are in the correct mode. It makes all the difference in the world. There are 2 settings for the speakers: internal speaker theater mode and internal speaker music mode. Music mode is where it sounds the best when using the 2 external speakers. 4. The headphones and high-res Dolby audio is PHENOMENAL!!! I was BLOWN AWAY by how good the audio is through the headphones. Put them on and crank the volume up and WOW! 5. The camera. It is the BEST camera HTC has made so far on any of their phones. I am not saying it is the best camera on any phone, though. However, I have an iPhone 6S and I have to say, the HTC 10 camera is on par if not slightly better. It is faster to focus, better in low light and better color quality in my opinion. I held off on buying the M8...I did not like the M9, so I held off on that purchase too. The A9 was beautiful but I wanted flagship specs. So I held off for the HTC 10. I do not regret buying this phone at all. It is the BEST phone I have ever owned. I also think it is the best on the market right now. HTC, welcome back! You hit it out of the ballpark! GRAND SLAM!

Very nice review, you are probably my favorite reviewer. Balanced review, highlighting both strengths and weaknesses. Very pleased that HTC got the camera right, and if the shortfalls you discussed can be fixed with software updates, should be one of the best cameras on a phone - which is surprising for HTC lol. Some of those still shots looked absolutely gorgeous.

great covering the bottom speaker doesn't muffle the audio, removing the front speakers isn't as bad as we thought, if anything it would have just made the phone longer with a second speaker on the front.

Check the Authority's review as well. They talk about the sound quality of the DAC a lot more. They too said that the cam although may not beat the S7, but still one of the best. The phone is also one of the best this year. Comparing the reviews of 2 of the best phone review channels on UTube with the verge review shows how poorly made it is

Great review! And superb phone! Just wished Jaime could talk a little more about performance of the phone once adoptable storage has been enabled (which lg and Samsung disabled, boo!!!) and the fact that warranty is still valid despite bootloader unlocks. At first I was quite disappointed looking at the lack of dual front speakers and the home button that looks like a Samsung home button, but since that button in reality is a capacitive touch button and BoomSound is not completely gone, I really love this phone. I'm using the One M9 now which I love, but I might swap to the 10 now.

im definitely getting this upgrading from my M8 but still love the M8... the HTC 10 is EPIC. only thing (not really HTCs fault) is that AT&T is refusing to carry the phone so im going to end up buying it from HTC for full price upfront rather than paying monthly on it which is helpful instead up shelling out the entire amount in front.

a couple gripes are that the screen isn't oled and the camera is apparently slower than the s7's; to open and to snap. But the software, audio, metal body and quick updates put the htc ahead by a tiny bit

I don't know what it is but the HTC phones are my favorite of all smart phones. I love HTC Sense and how smoothly it runs and how it makes all my social media so easily accessible in one place ..
