Some notes on that list. - money is no object (within reason) - older phones had small displays, so a qwerty gave a huge advantage (eg Nexus One, Samsung Galaxy S1, S2) - Samsung made the best phone and with the largest display, and absolutely dominated the market for several years - I didn't give any extra points for S-Pen or DeX, as that makes things too unfair - Google Pixel 2XL was a controversial addition, this was Google's most competitive phone, yet it's not much better than the S8-Active - I love Custom Roms, but they typically take 6-12 months development to optimise better. And if you are upgrading your phone as often as this list, then you don't need it as you'll be on the most recent software anyway - Preference is given to more features (User Removable Battery, IrDa Blaster, 3.5mm port, microSD slot etc) but grounded in reality of the market - Storage Issues (lack of microSD slot) is major but can be bypassed by pure money and getting larger (1TB internal) models - Many great options from China but all had lots of small flaws, or a single major flaw, compared to the mainstream competitors .... what do you think about this list ? .... what is your list of android phones ? .... why is your nose so red ?

Unfortunately sony is slowly getting rid of the good features as well. They've removed physical dual SIM support (which allowed for a nano SIM plus microSD at the same time) in favor of this stupid hybrid garbage, so if you want to use a microSD card you're forced to use the e-SIM nonsense, because it only has ONE shared physical slot for either a nano SIM *or* a microSD, and the e-SIM garbage somehow now counts as dual SIM support. Some newer models even went backwards going from USB 3 back down to USB 2 and losing displayport video output in the process

I used to have an LG V20 and the main reason I got it was the built-in audio DAC capabilities it offered. Plus, it came with a removable battery. I'm interested now in checking out the V30 on this video and poilssibly get a used one in the aftermarket

I was kinda frustrated when LG stopped making phones because I genuinely liked and picked their phone every time I had a upgrade or needed a new one. That was until I went for a upgrade but didn't see a LG option, so I asked if they had any coming in stock soon, or if another location had a LG model I could upgrade to. Well, we all know what the answer to that was. Now I'm stuck with a Samsung Galaxy abc123 or whatever, that honestly doesn't hold a candle to LG.

Yeah, LG phones were the goats. I only had one, the Stylo 4, but that was easily my favourite phone and I still feel nostalgic about it. I upgraded to an A13 5G (and then S24+) but they don't feel the same as the Stylo 4. I do own a G8 (and I actually enjoyed playing with it when I received it)

I stopped using my V30+ in 2020, after it's display and the back panel was cracked. I recently found it in a old box of things, and to my surprise, it booted up without any issue after I charged it. I may try to replace the panels and use it again.

November 2023 I bought the LG G8sThinQ brand new and still in a plastic wrapped box, just for the headphone output, but after two years on an iphone it was really nice to have this extra phone for the Android experience as well as the DAC

I ran an LG G7 ThinQ as my daily driver until last summer and previously had the LG G3 and G4, but never a V series phone. Still, the Quad DAC was one of my favourite features and a fairly unique one to have in a phone. The thing I miss the most is that rear fingerprint sensor and the old rear power button and volume rockers from the G3 and G4. Also, the G4 had the best implemented manual camera mode I've used in a smartphone. There was a lot to admire about the way LG did things. Unfortunately, they didn't have the headline specs that a lot of reviewers like to bang on about.

I had a V20, it had a lot of the stuff that the V30 had, but it also had a small secondary display which was cool, and a REMOVABLE BATTERY. I wish the smartphone industry would be more experimental, the only modern phones that i am interested in that don't have a headphone jack are the foldables (excluding the flip).

i still keep my V20 charged even tho' it's no longer my daily driver. ever since owning and knowing LG stopped making phones, I've been eyeing V-series phones. i'm curious about the cult following of the V30 and whether the devotees pick this one out of the bunch for reasons other than relative availability, price and good looks? in other words, is it just the most well-rounded offering of the V-series or does it have exclusive functional elements too (that are not available in the other V-series phones)?

I used to have an LG v20 and it was the best smartphone I ever had. Secondary display in top for easy access apps, it had 3 cameras at a time where that was unheard of (telephoto and wide angle). Also had an IR blaster, which meant you can use it as a remote control for ANYTHING. But that wasn’t all, it had a metal encasing, but a button on the side allowed you to pop that back open, yes pop the back open, and remove the battery and SIM card. Truly a next gen smartphone.
