Thank you thank you thank you. I replaced my battery, and case with not a problem. One note however, the long black signal cable at time interval @ 3:25 from the factory sits below the two zif connectors then remerges at the bottom to connect to the board. Just FYI, otherwise excellent video, thanks again.

Oh wow! I just ordered a new battery and I am scared I will ruin it. It looks quite complicated. Where did you get the tools from please? Do you have professional ones or just those which can be bought with battery? Anyways Congratulations!

@@eduard348 i just did the battery exchange too and it works perfectly, i just bought a smartphone repair kit on amazon with all the screwdrivers and what not youd need, the htc one m9 battery was also included as it was a repair kit for the purpose of replacing the battery in the htc one m9

Thanks for the video quite helpful, though when I tried to power up my phone nothing, it was dead. I pulled it apart checked all connections, still not starting up. It was time for a new phone anyway. Thanks

I don't have any experience repairing phones and was able to do this battery swap successfully. This can be done on the cheap and without all the tools!! Not that I'd recommend that of course! Hardest part was separating the back cover from the main body tbh. I didn't have any good prying tool so had to force a gap open using a tiny flat head screwdriver so I could squeeze in a guitar pick to pry with. By doing this I slightly lifted the screen in one spot so now I get a little bit of backlight bleed there although it's barely noticeable. That's the only damage I suffered tho. Anyway, be careful with this part of the process - having a proper pry tool will help a lot. Other than that I'd say make sure you got fine tip tweezers. I only had regular tweezers which were pretty much useless. I mostly used my fingers and a tiny flat head screwdriver to lift/pushdown the connectors. You can use your fingers with most of the flex connectors. It's doable without them but the fine tip tweezers will just make the process a whole lot less annoying. Last thing I'll say is make sure you've plugged in the battery connector to the mainboard properly. When I finished initially my phone wouldn't turn on. I found that even though I'd screwed the battery connector down, the plug underneath wasn't actually plugged into the small port on the mainboard. I unscrewed it and plugged it in properly and wal-lah. Unfortunately for me, the screw plate on the flex cable doesn't align with the screw holes on on the mainboard which is incredibly annoying. That's what I get for buying a $10 battery I guess. I had to angle the screws a bit and not screw them in hard - just enough so that they put a bit of downward pressure on the connector. Leaving the connector plugged in without the screws let the phone boot but it would not charge or read the charge level properly.

I went through a similar learning curve, but that was okay. My biggest problem is now that when I tried to remove the original battery, I accidently ripped the power / volume button keys ribbon cable as it was going over the battery and the space there was very limited. So i now have to order the whole Power and Volume Buttons Cable, Proximity Sensor, and SD Card Reader, take apart my phone again and then fix that one.... Slightly annoying, but that's just the way it is. Perhaps Repairs Universe could add some annotations to the video to be careful about those points we made.

i ordered a repair kit off amazon with a "proper" pry tool..shaped like a guitar pick...ill have you know the tool is now broken in several places and my right index finger is suffering real bad lol! i did have to reopen it like 3 times because i had issues with the camera...but turns out it wasnt a connectivity issue...all i had to do was clear cache/data in app settings and start the camera after holding the phone horizontally and it worked perfectly again from there on!

@@kissdomi That's funny. About a year after my original comment I replaced the battery a second time and ripped the same cable. It's an easy mistake to make because that ribbon cable just barely goes over that corner of the battery so when you pry the battery up at enough of an angle it will rip it. The battery needs to get stuck down quite hard by the glue so I think prying the battery up like that is what most people would do but you really need to be careful and try to pull the battery out and back rather than lift it.

Perfect, Thank You for a clear concise instructional video, I had seen that the M9 was hard to do, but this worked out well with your video and for $18, I put a new battery in it , and was sent the tools to do it also. Lucky I had other items to work with , because plastic tools are soft, but it works and Thank You !!!

Nice job, but you need to be highly skilled to pull it off. I was able to do it (for my GF's phone) but have I have many years wireless assembly and repair experience. This phone is a !@#$%^ nightmare of glued-together surfaces and fragile connectors, and was clearly not designed with service in mind. Extreme caution advised.
