Feel so bad to read the comments saying bad things about Alia or her trying to copy Deepika. Alia is one of the most natural actors and human beings. Even after her continuously have proven her mettle through her work, still despiteful people try to pull her down, calling her nepo kid and all. She is the one who continuously in her every speech acknowledges the opportunity given to her by Karan Johar. She never forgets that. None of the actresses express that amount of gratitude. They all become full of themselves once they are successful. Alia is one of those women who always cheer and praise other actress's work, talk good about others. I have never seen any good actress ever say anything good about any other actress's work. There are so many talented actresses like Kangana, Yami, etc who are way more naturally beautiful than the nepo kids but have not been treated right by Bollywood or have been sidelined. I liked how she answered the questions and accepted the fact that celebs have professional help to raise kids and privileges too. Other celebs keep denying or give excuses but she is atleast raw and real about it. Also she said celebs are given too much importance it's true. I remember Virat saying in an interview that fans can be annoying but at the same time mints crores due to brands endorsements because of fans so I think a balanced approach in thinking is required. But she has also been into the news for various reasons since the beginning.....she got the good marketing without even having an opinion. While other actresses who doesn't have support they have to create controversies or dramas just to market themselves. But Alia ....she never had to do that. I love how hard she works on herself and the way she carries her own personality with pride, honour and confidence without any hesitation. But that persona if not utilised will be of no use.....that person will be wasted. Her talent have been well utilised. And she can nail all the characters with her hardwork. Awful, tiring interview by Sonal Kalra: blatant pandering of the celebrity persona, making so much out of Alia's decision to wear her wedding saree to the National Awards as some earth-shattering statement on sustainability, among other things. And condescension in the way Sonal refers to people as "common people", "commoners" in her questions. All her questions are essentially footnotes. No criticality, nothing thought-provoking or insightful and there was nothing about Alia that I learnt that I already did not know or could not have found out through her appearances on KJo's talk show. The interviewer conducted the interview well and was very professional, patient and articulated the questions well. But, when she was calling out to her colleague towards the end I felt she shouldn't have made a statement about her being busy gossiping (she seemed to say it in a light hearted manner). The interview was focused on women being leaders and achieving laurels and this statement of hers just bought down women's image. I know I'm reading too much into it, but this observation almost instantly popped into my mind the minute I heard the interviewer say that.

Calling members of public 'Commoners' to differentiate them from celebrities was a touch too cringey for me. The anchor needs to watch her choice of words...'commoners' sounds a tad too crass imo.
