So I am just going to write my heart out here. I like kareena kapoor khan as an actor. I have seen several movies of her like Aitraaz, Agent Vindo, kurbaan, Talaash, Ra-one, Chup Chup ke, Ajnabee, Udta punjab and few more. Agent Vinod, Aitraaz, and her character in Talaash are my favorite. She has definitely taken some not-so-mainstream films as well. And I have literally not watched K3G and Jab we met. You could tell by most of her movies that she tried to play safe with her characters and not really challenge herself. Whatever I had seen of hers in talk shows and interviews was not something which was as personal as this. and she said herself that she is not that ambitious and I really really wanted to see that different side of hers which is just not glamourised. I am hoping we are gonna get to see that in her upcoming movies as she just said herself. when I got to know that she has said no to KAL HO NA HO, RAMLEELA, QUEEN and I guess a few more movies and then I just thought why? She could have been so much more today. I really wanted to see an authentic interview of her which I can say now that I have got one. I liked how the interviewer cross-questioned her. I have got to know more personal stuff about her and the way she is as a person. This interview tried to break her previous image in my eyes and I guess that was the purpose of it. It is not like that I didn't like that image. I love her expressions which also remind me of BIPASHA BASU saying "too many expressions" for her, haha! but it suits her, honestly. Also most definitely she is taking ANURAG KASHYAP'S advice by asking "What is the film and not who is in the film" and I hope she does not start charity again as once said by Deepika Padukone. 🤣

She also rejected HDDCS (for Harvard), Black, Bajairo Mastani, Padmavaat, Tanu Weds Manu, Dostana, Chennai Express, Rani’s role in KANK, KNPH and others. As a fan, I was very furious about these rejections. Bipasha and Deepika did not get in trouble for saying those things, they did not get a bad reputation or decades of hate or insulted or name called like Kareena would have gotten had she said those things. It’s soooo sad that outsiders got away with lots of bad behavior and digs and media and people acted like they never said those things but Kareena was targeted, kept on a tight leash and not allowed any mistakes because of her insider/ name. Looks like She’s gonna get the last laugh now with her acting, naturalness and self acceptance.

Definitely the best Kareena interview since I guess Rendezvous With Simi Grewal which was close on the heels of her debut. Just last week I was having a discussion in one of my whatsapp friends groups that when Kareena was young I used to find her irritating and annoying..like I used to find her performances as Poo in K3G & Papa Ki Pari character in Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon totally over the top. She had this annoying habit of putting so much stress on her dialogue delivery that it looked like she was trying too hard. In fact, she started off really well in Refugee where she was very natural. Later, as mentioned in the interview, Dev & Chameli were movies where she got chances to do offbeat characters and she did well. Jab We Met was the first movie where I really liked her performance. The first half which was the bubbly Geet is known to be more iconic with so many girls loving her dialogue Main apni favourite hoon and aping that in their lives but what really impressed me was the second half when Geet becomes depressed and roles are reversed and Aditya has to pull her out of it. The way she performed that at that age was when i felt wow, she finally is maturing as an actress. Then post her marriage to Saif and becoming a Mother, a lot more character came into her looks too and she was not just a pretty face anymore. Talaash, Bajrangi Bhaijaan (though the role was small), 3 Idiots, Laal Singh Chaddha and Jaane Jaan have proved she has indeed matured as an actress and I have loved her in all these films. I don't know why Mayank didn't point out that it's actually very similar to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who was also just a pretty face, annoying and over the top when she was young and she matured as an actress post marriage and becoming a Mother. Both of their interviews now also show how much they have matured personally too not taking their gorgeous looks too seriously anymore. Coming back to Kareena, I am sure Buckingham Murders will be superb too especially since Hansal Mehta is directing it. So she is currently in the best phase of her career as an actor. I am crushing on her since the last few years and loving her performances unlike her younger days. One more thing that didn't go in her favour was her supposed arrogance when she was young and now she has really matured. Also personally Ash & Kareena have somethings very similar like the supposed Kareena Hrithik affair was similar to Ash-Salman, Kareena-Shahid one was similar to Ash-Vivek and finally Kareena marrying Saif who was from a very sophisticated background was so similar to Ash-Abhishek marriage. No similarities with Alia at all..i disagree on this one as Alia established herself as a fantastic actress right from her second movie Highway. Anyway, in the end life does balance out things I guess!!!

Kareena kapoor and her mum changed massively after Karishma's divorce. Prior to that they used think that they are untouchable due to their close friendships with superstars such as SRK, Salman, Akshay, Amir etc. These girls were so bitchy and did harm to lots of their contemporaries.
