OOOOOOOOHHHHHH MMMMMYYYY GGGGOOOOOOOOOODDDDDD! Sorry but this is exactly what I needed, I have jumped feet first into game dev knowing nothing about Unreal, and have been learning as I go. I wanted this info for so long but not knowing where too look. I'm now actually supper excited to update everything and make it all run so much better!

Collisions are always enabled by default and they are always perfect shaped as well. I can prove it!! 1. Put down your phone or step away from your computer 2. Turn towards a wall that is at least 10 feet away 3. Run full speed and throw yourself at said wall as hard as you can! You will see that collisions are enabled IRL 🤣

Wish he covered how to assign custom collision to a certain actor. Say you make the enemy thing, and now you make an enemy, and you want that enemy to have that collision label (along with its childrens) specifically for it how do you do that? Been trying to figure out how to assign these things for a while now. I need something to ignore players and only players... I am a newb, obviously.

Is there a way change the geometry of the "capsule component (inherited)" to another object like a cube? A answer would help a lot and your tutorials are great!
@aysikl7 жыл бұрын
try add component cube collision / box collision .. collision box maybe.. and set that to the root/ switch with the capsule .. :)
@aysikl7 жыл бұрын
you can have custom collision meshes and multiple capsules, ie lower upper leg arm, torso (lower/upper), head... and do limb dmg and headshot like that fx :)

When I put the box collision on the capsule component it says: "The root component in this blueprint is inherit and cannot be replaced". I think that's because it's a character blueprint. Is there an easy way to change that without having to redo all the programming for the character? Or is there another way to change the root collision?

Hey man, just wondering how do you make your character stop when you run into a wall instead of continuously sliding into it?
