My theory is that a new trilogy will begin and Dart and some boy named “Aron Stryker” would be the main characters of the trilogy. And Aron’s friends would have hybrid dragons like a zipple wraith, deathly galeslash, abomibumble, or new species like sliver phantom, sword stealer. And the villain would be a genius builder that’s Grimmel’s cousin or brother. He would rebuild the red death with mechanical parts and its skeleton remains in dragon island and he would try to track down the hidden world by capturing toothless like how stoick did. But then Dart and Aron would stop him! and when the villain would be defeated. Dart and Aron would start a new era of dragon riders! How do you like my theory? (Answer in reply section!)

The third movie was a cop-out that discarded the theme of overcoming limitations and working together so the producer could force the story to match 1 line in the HTTYD book. A book the first two movies actively rejected, so a retcon would be welcome, at least to the fans that were disappointed by HTTYD3

Personally I think the hidden world did not give a very good ending because it seems like there will be more after it. But that I would be fine with being the end of the franchise I do want to see another movie come out with Hiccup and toothless maybe in their 40's for age and a lot wiser but I do not know or really care to much whether or not there is another movie to the franchise. It is my favorite franchise I have ever seen though

As much as I would love another HTTYD movie, the third movie ended perfectly. And I'm not sure what you mean by "obviously need a proper ending"; the end of The Hidden World IS their ending. The dragons are safe, the Berkians are safe, and they both would've been in danger if they stayed together by becoming a bigger target. It sucks that they have to be apart, but that's what's best for both species. And all the ideas you brought up for a fourth movie has already happened throughout the franchise so I'm not even sure where'd they'd go from there anyway. But if they did do a fourth movie, I'm totally down for a backstory of Toothless from when he was a hatchling, to when he gets shot down by Hiccup.

Everybody wanting to pick up in 2+2 reunite the creators literally gave us that already if anyone is seeing how to train your Dragon homecoming that movie takes place at the end of how to train your Dragon three hidden world. A lot of people will be confused here, so let me explain even though the end of the third movie, we see hiccough Astrid and their kids going to see toothless that is a continuation of the movie homecoming. It wasn’t known to us because homecoming wasn’t out when the third movie came out, but once homecoming came out, it’s revealed that at the end of the movie Astrid looks to pick up after toothless and light fury and their family are flying away from visiting Burke briefly Astrid says to him Isn’t it about time we go visit them which then prompted them to go on the boat and sailed out to where the hidden world is prompting them to see toothless had the kids be able to meet him and pet him and then fly around them dragons so I know it’s gonna be confusing but basically end of how to train your Dragon three happens with the wedding and Astrid and toothless looking out over the horizon with the rest of Burke. Homecoming continues that where they are teaching the kids about dragons and about how old the Vikings used to live with dragons at the end of homecoming after it specifically says let’s go visit them and at the very very very end of the third movie is the continuation of that where they are sailing out to the hidden world and 2+ recognizes hiccough gets excited and greets him. All happily. I can’t stress enough because I’ve seen so many publications from people working on the movie. This will not be a continuation of the story. We already have. This will be a live action version of the first movie. I’ll be out with a couple of details added here and there. Instead of asking what we could get from the future of the story that is already finished. The dragons are living in the hidden world Vikings are living on Burke but remembering the dragons that is the end of the story, but instead of focussing on continuing a story that they already gave us an end, for let’s focus on what they could do for this reenactment of the first one let’s look at elements of the first movie that could’ve been a little bit better, or could’ve been tweaked in a way that looks incredible or let’s talk about the obvious animation glitch where toothless hesitate before putting his head To pick up hand, they ended up keeping that editing mistake because it fit the movie, but will they keep that in the live action will toothless hesitate in the live action are there going to be new elements that we see in the live action that we didn’t see in the first movie that are welcome addition

A sequel, & a prequel all in one! The vikings desend into the Hidden World, rejoining the dragons that they love & cared for! & it's a prequel to the animated dragons series on Hulu! But, what drives them there is up for determination! I'd probably keep it historic! Modern sailors from Europe & England become the antagonists!! They are completely unaware if the dragons at 1st, but then begin trying to hunt them down (to be trophies, obviously)! Every dragon is freed, but they can't stop the numbers of the European sailors! & are forced to leave the surface world forever! Some stay above, hidden in the world, forsaking their Viking heritage publicly to remain hidden! Descendants of Hickup both above, & in the Hidden World! Leaving treasures/trinkets as they decend into the unknown of the Hidden World! The sailors don't see the dragons hidden within fog of the Hidden World, & are forced to retreat! Telling tales of the encounters far into the future! But, their leader isn't convinced that they've seen the last of the hidden beasts! & leaves warnings about them, which go unheard & ignored! As his country's leader enjoys the tales that he hears! As the captain leaves the residence, he's slowly flipping a black dragon scale hidden in his hand...

0:30 Important thing to note is your whole intro is talking about how will they continue the story? I’m not trying to leave any heat. This is just from what I know from reading the Director has specifically said this won’t be a continuation of the story. This is a re-creation of the first how to train your Dragon movie just live action. There are gonna be like some differences in the movie obviously just like the lion king dead where they didn’t tell the exact script Word for Word, but they are basically going to stick to the idea of the first story where hiccough and toothless meet and teach the other Vikings that dragons aren’t bad I know it’s not that big of a deal people will find out when the movie comes out but it just bothers me when everybody thinks that just because people are calling this how to train your Dragon for they think that it’s gonna be a continuation of the story we have an ending to the story the continuation that everybody was begging for was somewhat given to us in how to train your Dragon homecoming. We got a little more information about how they’re living on Newburgh, and things like that but we aren’t gonna be seeing a continuation of the story hiccough and toothless aren’t going to reunite. They’re going to stay where they were at the end of the third and movie at Homecoming. despite the fact that this is just gonna be a live action version of the first one, I’m still incredibly excited to see how they pull it off

I’m so excited to see this movie honestly for me what is going to be the telling point of whether I like the movie or not is going to be how they do the dragons I really really want them to keep the original element of how to train your dragon dragons and not just the classic dragons that you see in things like Game of Thrones or other movies or TV shows that use the very basic dragon thing one thing I always liked about the how to train your Dragon universe is how unique all the different types of dragons here so as long as they are able to make the dragons look really good than this movie will be at his house for me I’m very excited to see the live action, especially with seeing which actors they’ve chosen for which roles I’m really excited to see how it turns out
