I have this press and love it. I did have an issue recently sublimating on slate, but a little confused, I did manage to do one perfectly and the other 3 not so well, I think maybe it is my printer?

I haven’t tried slate yet but that would be fun to try. It may have been the printer but it could also be the slate blanks you were using, they could have been defective and maybe not had a proper poly coating on them. There are many variables with sublimation and sometimes it’s hard to know what is to blame for the flaws without lots of testing.

How do you know when to use the Teflon sheet, parchment paper or not use anything on top?

Good question. If your heat transfer vinyl has a carrying sheet on it and you’re only doing one layer you don’t need to use a Teflon sheet or parchment paper. If you are doing multiple layers or using delicate material use it! To keep it simple - use it all the time :)

I just got mine and I can't get it to increase more than 300 what could I be doing wrong?

You may need to change the settings from Celsius to Fahrenheit.
