HU vs NSU at Kings Fork Comp after show 2011

NSU performed halftime, then Hampton did their show. At the end of Hampton's show, they decided to play Neck while NSU was on the sidelines. As soon as HU stopped playing, NSU CRANKED it right back at them. NSU left as Hampton played at them.

As a member of the host school's band, I felt like this was a treat to us, all the other bands, as well as the audience. I like that you showed your rivalry at our competition and I had fun watching it with my band. Plus, both schools got some new recruits out of it :)

I actually done think HIU sounds bad watsoeva based on this clip. Actually pretty clean...probably one of the cleanest Ive heard this year. They dont hav a real full powerful sound but the tone quality n intonation is definitely 2nd to none. But at the end of the day...NSU is NSU...wat can u do?? Giv o_0 Give HU sum serious numbers n they will b a problem for A LOT OF FOLKS!!!

I'm gon be real wit it, we all know NSU is the bigger and better band. That's not the question, however HU does not sound as bad as many of these comments say. I've heard The Force sound much worst in the past. If Hampton had more numbers then they would not have to over exaggerate some of their notes just to gain more volume. NSU already has a great rep no need to bash Hampton whom is rebuilding and is off to a good start IMHO.

As a college educated woman, what's most disappointing is how some of "us" are trying to teach the younger generation that everything in life is peaches and cream. As a former Spartan, I don't agree with playing over another band while they were on the field finishing their...BUT, Hampton was clearly finished with their sideline blowdown and any objectional person watching can see that look like the end of the show. First of all let me tell you this....Im a high school student and a senior this year and I am proud to say that if I happen to get a scholarship to NSU I will be on the first bus there because their music program is on point and so is their band.....you jus a hater and can't handle the fact that NSU is better than BCU.....They may be small compared to them, however, they have very good sound quality and have very good taste in what selections to play at what moment....so yeah they are way better

I'm going to say this and I like both programs. When I was in school my choice was Hampton under the Late Great Barney Smart. I have to say though after his passing Hampton's program has went down. NSU has it for the Bay hands down, but when it come to BCU NSU can stick with them but they aren't better than them.

um mistake.... the legion was in the wop position for 1-2 minutes while HU was playing their "neck" and thats the only reason that HU got any camera time. when hampton started playing the people that paid to be there began to leave. so i dont feel as if hampton should be up set with the legion... well then again i wouldnt want my band sounding that bad to be online either so yea hampton i guess its ok to be mad

I dont think the camera was at a good angle BUT i also know the man behind the camera and so i know there was a reason why he wasnt able to get to a good spot.When you are carrying around professional equip you are NOT going to take the chance of it getting broken by rushing.I think that at a better angle would have done both bands justice and then alot of this debate would maybe have different comments.From what i see in this video i believe NSU thought that HIU was finished.

I understand that we are all so all deeply emotional about this topic, but this is the exact reason that HBCU bands as a whole are labeled as immoral, loud, and lacking of musical capability. HBCUs were founded not for who's band could crank on who but because of the need to advance the education of our Black Community. Why are we fighting one another. Each of us has room to grow.
