I hope you're all well, healthy, and staying safe!
This marks my tenth Hua Chenyu reaction! However, up until this point, I have not reacted to any Hua Chenyu music videos. That all changes as of this video! It was brought to my attention that Hua recently released an MV for Bullfighting, and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to react to a Hua Chenyu music video for the first time! Thank you for your reaction. This MV is shocking, thought-provoking and absolutely beautiful in a macabre way. It is interesting to see all the different interpretations of this MV and that is exactly what Hua wants to achieve. For me, I see that the hidden darkness in us can and will turn us into a cold heartless robot, yet in turn the aggressor will turn into a victim in the hands of others because man-bull-man are basically the same. . Only by holding onto the pure, kindness in our hearts that we can "wake up" from this nightmare. Hua Hua always outdoes himself and never disappoints!

It is interesting indeed to see the many ways a song or video can be interpreted. It's one of the main reasons I do my reactions the way that I do; I think exploring meaning in the music can be fun and enlightening at the same time. The end goal is not to reach an absolute truth, or to define a given song, but rather to explore how these words and visuals hit me, and share my perspective with the viewers. Once that is done, I love seeing the perspectives you guys have on the same content and what influenced those perspectives. I feel that there is so much to learn from that, and this song and music video provides a wonderful opportunity for such an exchange with how much it has going on in it. Where do I begin? I could post a novella, but this is neither the time nor the place. Suffice it to say, I've been schooled *TWICE* on this Hua Chenyu, for all the right reasons. I Subscribed to your channel for more of this in depth yet conversational reactions, like another young man I hit the Like button for as well. I'm brand new to this-- this singer/performer of incredible talent! Who knew I'd be drawn in by a song called BULLFIGHTING? But I get it, my eyes are brimming with tears with every blink-- Now THAT'S music that M0VES Me. So, it's nice to meet you and I hope you don't mind if I stay a while... When the bull was stabbed,there was a shape of a man roaring in pain and anger in the background if u watch it close. I suppose it confirms the fact that the song is actually talking about “manfighting” rather than bullfighting.The audience looks ugly and gross because they are the real villains who killed both matador and the bull.The bull tears in pain at the moment it dies,and the matador regrets at last,but it seems the audience have no feelings but insanity.I believe this is about cyber bullying because u can see the chat bubbles above the head of the audience,and at last,the bubbles turn into spears throwing towards the bull.There are so many details in the music video.I just wanna say Hua Chenyu is such a talented artist with deep thoughts.

Thank you for your appreciation for Hua's artistic interpretation. Always enjoy your perspectives. This video has so much going on, you have to see it many times to soak it all in. It's hard to cover it all in the reactions as it would take hours to interpret every details of the video, Reading the comments gave very interesting light to various parts of the video. Hua makes you think on how humans treat animals, environments and people and how destructive your negative actions can cause undesirable consequences. Hua says bullfighting is about love in his simplistic explanation. But the video says so much.

It's always a pleasure reacting to Hua content, glad to hear you enjoy the reactions! This MV is very interesting. With most things that I react to, I tend to notice even more patterns, symbols, and make different connections on my second watch or listen, which doesn't end up in the video given that it is after the video is made. With that said, that phenomenon was on another level with this video; there is just so much packed into one music video here. Truly beautiful MV!

I watched this with my husband and he came to an interesting conclusion, I shared more or less similar thoughts with you and my husband interpreted this as the story of christ, he explained it to me at the time but he grew up catholic and I didn't so I don't think I could re-explain it and give it justice. But I guess it was the fact that Hua Chenyu mirrored the movements of both the matador and the bull and was reborn to save the world (that was a very summed up version)... but with the bull being killed by the audience and during his death the arena starts blowing up and he is "reborn". His interpretation was very interesting, and not one that I initially saw. Curious about your take on this! Again - love your videos! ❤

I didn't think of the bull being reborn, I kind of just thought of it more like a cycle where the matador is in a predicament through past actions that he needs to continually face, and the bull that ends up hitting him is representative of consequences of regret of past actions. I'm always fascinated about the multiple ways we can interpret the same thing, and how our separate realities can be communicated in that way. In my humble opinion is, the triangle represents Greed, Hatred and Delusion. The square base represents the 4 Noble Truths: 1)truth of suffering 2)truth of the cause of suffering 3)truth of the end of suffering 4) truth of the path that leads to the end of suffering. Therefore be kind and be conscious of our own actions. We share and coexist in this world.

The video seems to explore our actions and their effects through time, and how we can experience shifts in perspective as a result, whether through retrospection or by living the consequences. With respect to the pyramids, I see Hua Chenyu either confined within it, or simply existing within its boundaries. Furthermore, we also have what appears to be a forest fire also appear within the pyramid. A pyramid itself can be symbolic for many things; one that jumps to mind is the idea of ascension and the connection between the physical and the spiritual. I would say that idea could be connected to other visual elements in the video, especially given the bodies rising towards the sky. One connection I'm thinking of that makes sense to me is that regardless of differences and inequalities experienced in the physical realm, on a spiritual level, these inequalities may not persist, or they would at least be different. Living that may lead us to seeing things in a different light, and perhaps being more compassionate for beings or individuals that we lacked consideration for based on prior actions. With that said, the connection that I'm making that resonates with me the most is that, the pyramid represents the past in a certain way. For example, the pyramids of Giza are something we can explore theoretically, that connects us to a past civilization that we are removed from quite extensively through time. Furthermore, as distant as we may be from the past, over time, each generation has an impact on the next, and we carry on things we may not completely understand the origins of. In some way, I would say that it is fair to say that our realities are shaped by the past, and that past thus plays a significant role in shaping our boundaries. With respect to the forest fire visualized within the pyramid in the video, in tandem with the glaciers; I would say that within those boundaries, we live the environmental issues that we need to deal with, and as much as we may be at fault for those issues, the past also plays a role and additionally, our behaviours that could influence such a situation have been shaped, in one way or another, over time from generation to generation.

I live on the other side of the planet and could be your grandma. Your personal analysis is articulate and insightful, and makes me optimistic that there are upcoming generations of deep thinkers afterall. I have been intoxicated by this song for a long time. There's a lush gorgeousness about it, even as it shames and warns us. Now with the visuals, the metaphors are further enriched. I found your ideas of internal dialogue, introspection, empathy, culpability and regret very interesting. You also tuck in an important fragment of optimism in observing that the quiet, white scene at the end is an awakening. For me, there is also a sense of being adrift, perhaps like the polar bear earlier. Each of us needs to make conscious choices of what we want our life and world to be. We are not robots, but we can so easily lose our humanity if we live passively.

Thank you for the kind words, that means a lot to me. That potential parallel you have observed with the platform at the end and the polar bear scene is very interesting. It fits nicely with the idea of being overly impressionable, to a point of losing control of our lives and acting in ways that lead us down paths we never intended on following. In allowing ourselves to be guided by external influences while lacking introspection and reflection, the landscape of our lives could completely be altered, to a point where it is no longer our own. I would say that this video brings attention the inner conflicts that one may consistently face in journeying through the inner-self, while simultaneously providing insight on the importance of actually going on that journey. Music and the arts are a vibrant platform that connect and inspire us. No one person has all the answers. Even realizing the questions can take a life time. Thank you for your analysis. He explained this in one of his interviews. He wants to talk about the relationship of the animals and human beings in this song . He normally doesn’t like to make music videos because he thinks the audience will have their own feelings and he doesn’t want to limit that. I really like your reaction.

At one point, the bull morphs into a human shape, which I take to mean that what we, as the beings in control, do to the "bull" as a representative of nature, we also do to ourselves.

I absolutely love your reactions to Hua Chenyu. There aren't a lot of reactors doing his work, and you do it so intelligently and well-informed. He's done a lot of Chinese television, which is very different from US shows and is very fascinating. There are quite a few of these shows on the Hua Chenyu English YT channel - if you're interested, check out the show called The Next - it has great performances in a very interesting format, not just from HuaHua, but other Chinese artists. I'm also curious...I know Dimash is big on many reaction channels right now, but I don't see any of his performances on yours - is that a conscious choice, or do you not know about him?
