I 've never seen anyone express emotions similar to him. He is not acting, all feelings come from his inner soul. How can you not be touched. He is playing the best function of music. I cried the first time I listened to it, also because I heard him talk about his love story before on Ace vs Ace. It’s a sad story, he never got over her and I love him singing love songs. I usually don’t like love songs, but he sings it so well apparently, he rarely sings a love song so I wouldn’t know.

This is actually about his past relationship, he did said that this is his favourite song and he is afraid to sing and touch this song.... This may be the only song that he tried really hard not to cry... Before he sings this song, he told someone that he needs to rearrange his emotions and to calm down first.... And he went to a room alone, and he also requested when he was performing, he need only one camera shooting him... So this song is special.... 😥

Everytime I watch this performance I tear up. The first time watching this was the hardest for me. I literally broke down and cried. Hard. It's painful to watch. Yet so beautiful. Heart wrenching. And healing at the same time. It's weird I know. But that's how he made me feel. ♥️

There's a difference in acting and feeling the emotions. Hua's emotion is real and personal to him. You may want to check out his interview on this performance. You will find every song he chooses has personal resonance with him. That is why his emotions he is conveying is so real, whether is rebelling, sad, lonely, angry, tormented or happy. Btw you can't do too many reactions when it comes to Hua or any good musical artists. To me every performances from all the shows and concerts deserves viewing even the ones on Ace vs Ace. Of course not all will be top notch creative performances, but each as its unique to simple beauty in them. Don't take it for granted if a song of Hua is not requested much, it's any less epic. Do as you feel and the avid fans will be pleased to watch.

Hi Martin, whether it was his own experience or not Hua Hua has the innate ability to emote and express according to what he intended to for any particular song. Case example is "Dad, I'm Home" originally composed and sung by Jay Chou another child of divorced parents. Hua Hua transformed it into a profoundly emotional piece of art to tug at anyone's heartstrings. The song is about abusive fathers but both Jay's and Hua's fathers weren't like that. Oh, Hua Hua performed "Dad, I'm Home" not out of choice but was challenged to do this song in the show "The Next". This song "Us" was originally by Eason Chen (from Hong Kong); Hua Hua discussed with the stage crew that he only needed one camera and how they can zoom in and out at certain moments of the song. In his pre-stage interview he did admit that he loves this song very much but cannot bring himself to sing it or even hum it at home. I suppose it resonates deeply with how he felt about his past which he was reluctant to let go and this is like a closure for that phase of his life. I am slowly building up my "immunity" to watch this performance of his again as I previously couldn't bear to watch after that episode. Thanks Martin for your hard work.

Always truly enjoy your reactions Martin! During confinement and broadcast from this small Beijing studio, Hua felt he couldn’t sing his more upbeat full orchestra own songs, that’s why he rearranged his Code Name Contra to an acoustic version and chose to sing this cover love song, he specifically requested the only one camera shot as he wanted to sing this song for one person only, his ex girlfriend. Hua is just such the ultimate performer, best actor singer. I’m looking forward to your next reactions as we’ll be back to Changsha and Hua’s own music which I love so much. @Gogglebox I understand all that as I also understand people cherish relationships whether they are current or not. I do not mean to offend when I say please go read what an empath experiences. My experience with this song was devastating because I understand it, from personal experience. What made it all the more heartbreaking is that Hua Hua had to go through this. It is him and everything he experiences that I feel. We might be incidental to him but he is not to me and I want nothing more than someone in his life that he can love and can love him with their entire being. For now its Per Per and that is the first step to allowing himself to be vulnerable again which must be scary as hell for him. He often sings about her but this song is different

@Gogglebox I am deeply sorry that you have to experience such a rollercoaster in life. I know many people who are able to do what you do.. be strong in the face of adversity and I applaude them. Unfortunately, as individuals, some of us do not have the control (and mostly energy) to be that and even though most wish with all their heart that we can be more like them, the reality of our lives will never be within their frame of reference so we dont bother.
