This blew my mind when I first saw it. It's as if, as an actor, he can have a character ready to come out, before the previous one ends. In 2019, he was joking about having split-personality disorder growing up, I don't know if it's true, probably just an allegory, but it sure is impressive. He explores this in his "Seven Personalities" song. Edit: Reporting spammers is a noble way of life :)

Welcome to the wonderful music world of Hua Chenyu. This performance was from Singer 2018 in which he came in second overall, after Jessie J. Hua won the competition last year (2020) and they've announced that the competition would stop. So Hua is the last and I believe the youngest winner. In Singer 2018, if I remember correctly, the participants were only allowed to sing 2 or 3 of their original songs, the rest must be covers. Hua sang only 2 of his originals- 'Qi Tian' and 'I Don't Care'. Even so, he made every one of those covers his own. I particularly enjoyed 'Nunchucks', 'Fake Monk' and 'I Am What I Am'. The last song is a tribute to his idol- the late Hong Kong singer/actor Leslie Cheung. Hua sings this song at every one of his concerts. In Singer 2020, Hua sang all his originals except for 2. One of the covers was a song by Hong Kong singer/actor Eason Chan- 'Us'. It is one of the saddest song but I like Hua's version more. He made it the saddest version ever. Of his originals, I particularly enjoy 'Contra In the Wild' and 'Really Want to Love This World'. 'Contra In the Wild' is an upgraded version of his 'Code Contra'- a song he wrote and performed within 24 hours in another competition. 'Really Want to Love This World' is a song Hua dedicates to people suffering from depression. He went thru a rough patch 2018-2019 and almost jumped off his balcony. He's all better now (thankfully) and he's now a Daddy to a 2 year old girl, Judy.👏

Hua is the original composer and singer of this song. His own songs are incredible. He mixes genres up but they flow seamlessly, not in anyway odd. This is one of his insane abilities. And he doesnt just mix them up for fun but usually the pace of that section reflects the story of the song he wants to convey.

One of the things that we love about him and his music is the variety and that he lets the music speak to us through him. You will really enjoy some of his more recent work. He has matured, I think, and is even better, songs like Jackdaw Boy, Madhous and Seven Personalities. I am now a subscriber.

Good reaction! He composed Qi Tian, and the lyrics are quite deep. It's the theme song for a movie that shows both the inner and outer battles of the main character, Sun Wukong. Hence the 2 alternating styles. Please rewind 10-15 seconds after pausing, so you don't miss anything, especially the transitions. And always search for ENG SUBS! All of his Singer episodes have been translated, along with many of his concerts and songs from The Next, award shows, and promotional events. The lyrics are important! You're right, there's no point in expecting anything about a Hua Chenyu performance you're watching for the first time. Except that it will be excellent, of course.😁

Yes, so good. This song is his own composition. He tells the story of the monkey king in this song. If you watch the video with eng subs you can see that both the soft and the more aggressive parts of the music reflect the lyrics. In the soft part in the beginning for example the monkey king is questioning why he was born, if there would be no more evil in the world if he manage to become a Buddha..... The aggressive parts talking about him fighting.... If you have time watch it again with subtitles. This song is really amazing. Thank you for reacting to HuaHua.
