很不認同此高質節目的英文名字。分明中國文化裡就有匠人，工匠或師傅等辭；那為什麼英文卻要用The Great shokunin? 而非 The Great Gongjiang, The Great Jiangren, or The Great Shifu????

同意你的观点。我想标题用shokunin，可能是因为中文中的gongjiang，jiabgren，在西方并未成文文化符号，知名度不高吧。shokunin应该是能让西方人联想到东方将人的一个比较常用的词。但是个人觉得，直接用英文的artisan，craftsman, master来表述大师将人的意思，也比用一个英文音译日文的中文舶来词贴切。以为这样会显得有文化，反而因为无知而冒犯。这一类视频的作用本来就是要普及中华文化，何不给你要是出的内容打上一个属于自己的语言符号呢？这样更有助于提高它的辨识度，以后再来的人就不必为了找一个描述他的方式来借用他国的文化符号了。

I admire this artist's dedication to his art. But I think he is selfish to lead a hermit's life when he has a wife that he's obviously neither helping or supporting emotionally.

He is doing something great for mankind - preserving the skills and knowlegde of great craftsmen who are now all dead. Basics of mortise and tenon are taught in school everyone studied it but no one is up to that skill level to master it now. This great Ancient Lu Ban Lock architectural legacies are going to be lost if this man don't sacrifice his life time to recover the mastery skills in the form of miniatures to pass down. His wife is contributing to mankind for sure, great men in history need great woman to understand and back him up.
