I bought the GT2e yesterday and I can say it's money well spent. After installing the app, the watch paired with my Sony Xperia 10 Plus with no problems at all and remained connected after several hours of use. The battery life is also impressive. It really is a big step up from the cheap and trashy watches I've used before.

I like the speaker in my GT 2 during my workouts. It tells me the time, hr, and calories I've burned. The microphone i really rarely used as well. In my opinion, i like the watch Gt 2's design. Its more elegant.

I see no use of speaker, mics or cameras on watches when phones atleast do the job. Watches can do something that phones can't which is stay on the forearm through the day measuring health information. If companies stick with that as their main priority to create better instruments to get your precise body info then that would be a better use of tech than a speaker doing the doplier effect everytime you run swinging your arms distorting the music.

Yep no speaker no mic. Ill definitely stick with my gt2 . Not swopping. I just find it easy when im busy or driving if i havnt paired my phone to just answer calls on my wrist for convenience. Even if its just to say ill call you back. I like this function

Excellent review. I've got the GT2, bought on the strength of your review and I've had it for a couple of months and love it. I don't tend to use the built in speaker but I must admit I prefer the look of mine.

Great review. I didn't even know there was a newer version to the GT2... I still prefer the GT2 over the 2e I think. I have the bigger face (46mm if I remember correctly) and it's a great all round watch. The endless amount of faces suit all occasions... I've not figured out how to get music to the watch but that's not really a concern as I don't think I'd use that anyway. There is one tiny thing that isn't true with the GT2 and that's the sleep count.... I really have issues sleeping so I look into this a lot. I can be ready a book on my phone from 22:00-23:00 and in the morning the app has be down for sleeping or napping.... Apart from that... Its a great watch

Yes it seems that as long as you're laying down, not moving much and have a low heart rate, it cannot tell if you're reading, browsing socmed or just napping 😅😅

I love the GT2. I have everything turned on all the time and the battery still lasts forever. I do use the watch to answer calls alot and really like that feature, especially if I'm in the house, which is obviously all the time with Covidness, I don't need to hunt for my phone or carry it as the Bluetooth range is really good. I just ordered a GT2 from amazon for 995sek (100euro/116usd). I'm currently using a Samsung gear s3 fronter that i had for 3.5 years now. Built like a tank but its slow and want better batterylife. My colleague bought a GT2e a while ago and is happy with it. I thought he hade a GT2 but just now find out it was the gt2e. I use the mic and speaker like at least 5 times a week. Mainly when im driving as its forbidden to use the phone while driving but also at home if i get a call when im not close to the phone like painting on the house or fixing the car. hope i dont going to miss the rotating bezel too much.

I like the speaker and mic for answering calls when I'm not close to my phone. It's also time they added TXT replies, even if it was some fixed messages, so you don't need a keyboard on the watch.

You can call contacts you have preselected on your phone and numbers in the call log. Be careful though. I have recently found out since my GT2 failed that Huawei will not service a watch purchased in another country and will no service a watch when it is out of warranty.

the spraker is one of the most improvment from GT 1.... for sports activity timing and distnces is critical if you just need to hear music orr for calls so yes its not so important ....but for sport usage its critical

Daniel Grof I own a Huawei GT2 (bought 1 month ago) and a Fitbit Ionic (18 months of intense use). The GT2 is great for running, and has a very beautiful visual and a robust construction, but the heart rate accuracy for indoor/gym training is TERRIBLE. I expect a firmware update as Huawei is announcing, to correct that. And the GT2 has ZERO connectivity with Strava, Endomondo or any other app... all your health and fitness data stays only inside Huawei’s servers. The Fitbit accuracy is superb and flawless (pure pulse technology developed by Fitbit) for any kind of workout, but the visual is not THAT beautiful. And additionally Fitbit has the SpO2 sensor for blood oxygen. So if you look for accuracy and a more versatile device in terms of apps and connectivity, go for Fitbit, which brings a huge health knowledge background as well.

Hi, the fact is that watchfaces from app cannot be installed into watch, it is work only on Huawei smartphones and not work on others.. there is issue with Huawei HMS service, which does not work properly on android 10 - when you will try to upload watchface from app to smartwatch, you will get the error may be it's temporary software issue, which will be fixed, but if it is continue of "USA vs Huawei" war, it is probably stay

Do not get this watch if you're a swimmer, even though it is able to count laps accurately. It WILL get water damaged after a year of use. There's a huge design defect where the screen and the body sits, as water will eventually seeped through. The screen went fuzzy one day and the display went blank. I took it to service centre. They just replied with "water damaged". All l I did was use it for swimming to count laps. The pool was less than 4 feet deep. Watch was 1.5 years old and repair will cost the full price of the watch plus another 20% on top. Huawei claims their watch is only water resistant, not water proofed. In other words, you can only use it at the sink and other light activities. Forget about using it to count laps as you risk destroying the watch forever.

I love the design of the mint GT2e but to be honest I do wish it had the speaker and mic. I have been chilling on the sofa and my phone has been in a different room and it would have been nice to answer the calls instead of just rejecting them. Also I wish they did a black version of the mint strap. I like the minimalist look of the mint watch body without the bezel markings and it would be nice if they did the same version on the black watch. The black and white versions get the plain strap instead of the Apple Watch Nike design. I have had and tested the GT2, Honor Magic 2 and I honestly prefer the GT2e. It sits better on the wrist and is more comfortable and the buttons do not get in the way.
