1080p makes this phone even more desirable, I already have OLED TV if I want to watch 4k movie but a phone with headphone jack, micro SD, and long battery life! This checks all the box.

Seems Sony missed the mark a bit. They have the 5 model, which essentially aligns with everything Marques mentioned, top-of-the-line specs with an FHD+ OLED display. Now, the 1 series also has an FHD screen for no apparent reason. Like Porsche, you don't put a Boxster engine into a 911 GT3.

So if you buy the MK1 and update the software would you get all this software updates 😂

Sony took all of MKBHD's suggestions, apart from dropping down the price. Seriously, as the phone itself, I can't find a single fault with it, it's amazing in every aspect, but I am just not willing to pay over a grand for a phone. If this ever goes on sale for around £800 I will be getting it, otherwise no chance.

Great hardware. But will never pay over a £1000 for any phone in 2024 with only a 1080p display. That's just beyond mental. Sony could've put a 720p screen on to save even more battery and some sheep would be happy throwing their money away. Not worth the money whatsoever...

I have given many chances to the Xperia 1. And this seems like the perfect one. Such a shame im back to samsung for the foreseeable future.

I really want to get the xm5 but I have the xm4's and contrary to what you've said about sony products, they did not last. The ones I have are actually my second set that Sony exchanged for me because the first pair battery life was ruined. Now the ones I have now are doing same and one side only last about an hour on full charge. And then just a couple days ago, I shit you not one side stopped working entirely. So I'm in the market and want to trust the xm5 but gonna wait till they hit the year mark to see how they have faired. Might even just wait till next gen comes out.
