i switched from iphone x too. Everything is great, but i have problems with the front camera. I cant close the beauty mode in the camera. Even its in 0 level, i have the feeling that my face is a little bit whiterish. Have you problems with this too?

I don't agree with some of your critics concerning the cons The indisplay fingerprint is very good For the headphone jack all the smartphones are now using type c Nano SD card is not so expensive and I agree with Huawei they're innovating a new SD card which is so nice But with what I agree with you is the loudness of the speakers is less than average Emui is good but I prefer stock android, and I hope Huawei maybe will update the software for the speakers loudness But for my rating of the phone is 9 out 10

I have this phone. My first phone definitely had the Gluegate problem. I exchanged it for a brand new one and haven't had the issue. I love this phone. The best phone I've ever had.

Been using the phone for about one month now. It is simply superb. I got the LG screen version at first but I got my device replaced for the BOE version already. In Malaysia, Huawei offers a one-to-one replacement and they give out free gifts like movie tickets or a gift box to those affected customers too.

I got mine from Vodafone carphone warehouse, mine is also the LG panel and I have pushed my screen and performace to the max benchmarking and gaming with max brightness to heat up the phone to the max, and tested with app OLED TOOLS, and mine is completely fine ive had 2 weeks now no issue.. I have the Twilight version LYA-L09 in the UK and if you want to see what panel your phone has either BOE or LG use the app HW INFO in general tab it says make of panel

I will be upgrading soon from my Mate 10 pro...The only reason I have been hesitant is the gluegate problem. I've even considered the galaxy s10+ while waiting. I want to see what Samsung is planning for the 10th anniversary before I give the moneyz...S10+ already has a bunch of leaks and for now I know 1 thing for certain I would be missing on the Galaxy device and that's easy projection (which btw is now totally wireless and fucken free for Mate10 pro, P20 pro and Mate 20 pro, yeey) because Samsung will probably sell DEX for coasting their version of the desktop experience. Another thing is the blazing fast charging and EMUI (which I honestly prefer over Samsung's UI )... I'll probably order my Mate 20 pro in blue, very sexy.... Btw great video :)

The glue gate is disgusting if you hear peoples experiences. The phone is good but man I cant deal with such issues. Plus the whole nano memory thing and no headphone jack. I hate notches but thats opinion. Some people love them. Buy it if you dont mind those issues, its a nice phone. @@nicemax9310 I have to carry the pen separately and I have to get used to the notch. Which i dont like. Plus a 7.2 inch screen? That phone will not be friendly to jeans pockets. Or I can get the note 9 which is a complete package for me. Good design, no notch, and the size is perfect, spen is in the phone and charged by the phone. Am yet to see any feature that takes me to another phone. I could have done the mate 20 pro if it had a jack, and maybe a teardrop notch. I didnt know that the pen is separate, but for me It doesnt really matter because I dont use pen, not useful for me. Its a pretty big phone but one of the smallest phoned with 7,2 screen because of small bezels, it feels like 6,8 note 9 if it would have notes design, and there is jeans that can fit it easily. But yea go with your note 9, its ok but you could get better.

@@nicemax9310 a notch ruins the full screen experience. Its like an uneven screen. The note 9 has a small forehead and chin. To me thats good looking instead of a notch. And you know way more people hate notches right? The pen matters to me. And i cant do any better than note 9. I have not seen any website or youtuber suggest the mate 20 x in their top 5 lists. Because its a niche phone. On the other hand ive seen the note 9 take so many number 1 positions. That speaks alot. If you love huawei or the mate more good for you, but I dont like them. Samsung gave out the complete package and I love it. I have seen many people complain about notch but ive not seen anyone complain about a small forehead. I do know for me, the note 9 is the best phone money can buy right now.

I'm was a dedicated iphone user. I tried Samsung, didn't like it whatsoever, so I switched back to ios. Once I got my mate 20 pro. I'm probably never going back to ios. I bought it yesterday and returned it today! Why? GREEN SCREEN ISSUE! Poor product quality lol. It is easy to detect if your phone has green screen issue. 1. Download solid black wallpaper 2. Set password to unlock ur phone 3. Set the brightness to low 4. Switch off the lights, or be in a dark room 5. Lock the phone and wake it up Tada~Green Screen~ Mine was LG panel. But I am not sure if this issue happens on LG panel only. If this issue arises due to Huawei poor quality control, then it should apply to all panels, be it BOE or what. My sincere advice, stay away from this "Green Beast"!

I bought the phone on pre-order, here in portugal, and the unity that i received had the problem. But i just noticed after 4 days using the phone. Gone to where i bought, needed to wait 3 days, then they called me to change the device. Device changed, 2 days later, same problem, but a way more agressive. Now, im waiting them to call me to go to the third unity, and if this one have the problem, i'll ask my money back. Literally the third unity of the phone in less then a month . Im sad :/

Victim of GlueGate here... Went to the carrier that sold me my phone. They informed me that this was a common problem for users who bough the green version of their phones. They reported that users who bought the black version weren't being affected by it. Perhaps in this case, the green phones had LG displays, while the Black had BOE? But that's just what they told me.

Excellent review and I'm on my 3rd phone now as I have had the green screen issue with green tint on the edges of the screen. This 3rd Mate 20 Pro has it but not as bad as the first 2 but its apparent. All 3 are LG panels and you can download an app called Device Info HW to find out what brand your screen is either LG or BOE. Is your screen made by BOE?

I have one of these phones and have one complaint. The front facing camera is no where near the quality of the rear ones. It is fixed focus meaning only a subject at arms length is in focus, selfie stick shots are not in focus. I guess this is also a function of having a fixed wide aperture lens. However I think other phones do it better. Also pictures appear to be over exposed and faces are "smoothed out" even when beautification is set to zero. This is a shame as the rear cameras are great.

I have the display issue, and I can say that Huawei dont say anything about it, just avoid the fact that the phone have those issues.

I have green tint in mate 20 pro twilight LG screen. Why they force LG screens if they are failure. You can check screen using OLED Tools, Black Screen.

You dnt have to press the power button to launch the onscreen fingerprint sensor. Just touch the screen the fingerprint will appear.

Thanks for a great review!! Please can you advise me on how to create sub folders or Albums in the Photo Gallery. Like, Home Pics, Office Pics, Fun Pics, Whatsapp Pics, Home Vids, Office Vids, Whatsapp Vids, etc.. Same way as Samsung allows to make sub folders in the Gallery, plus transfer of Photos and Videos from one folder to another. Is that allowed on Huawei Mate 20 X. Please advise, as I am intending to buy this Phone.

You can make your own folders but not subfolders.
