The Mate 20 and the Mate 20 X has support for the 3.5mm audio jack and has IP53 water resistance.The Mate 20 Pro,on the other hand,does not have the jack but comes with a better IP68 water resistance. The Mate 20 X is a special case though as it features a liquid multi-dimensional cooling system with Vapour Chamber (VC) and Graphene Film. So if you’re a hardcore mobile gamer and want the best thermals,the Mate 20X is for you.

Thanks FT for the update. For me this phone is the best one I have purchased. On my previous phones I would have to turn up the volume and display 100 percent. With this one down to 60 percent and still loud and bright. The only trouble I have is when I'm on website in landscape mode, I'll swipe up and instead of the page scrolling up it will go to the home screen. Also looks like you'll be able to rebrand the AL00 pretty soon. Guys at XDA are hot and heavy on it. If you're coming from Apple or Samsung you're going to be extremely impressed with the battery life of all the Mates.

I just got mate 20x 8/256 Avr-AL00 Chinese version. U can consider this phone as a custom made for big screen lovers who do a lot gaming and media. For me i carry 2 phones and u guessed it, the mate 20x for pleasure.

@@deevillamor9220 actually i was surprised to see Netflix on HD, i bought it thinking that Chinese version are not allowed play HD but fortunately it does, no issue with notifications too, as long as u specifically set them to be opened in the background through APP LAUNCH, annoying little bit to set every app to run in the background (mails, whatsapp.. Etc) but it's a one time deal. Also u need to set notifications to (ALL) not smart notifications, once u do that u r good to go.

Great video Frankie! I actually now own a Chinese version Mate 20 x 8gb 256gb, and even though it took me half a day to figure out how to install all the Google services, it was well worth it. I am in love with this phone, as it has everything I put on my check list. I moved from a ZTE AXON 7 to the Mate 20 x. One of the most crucial features I was looking for was great dual speakers, and it does not disappoint! And the rest of the features are a bonus, plus the Kirin 980! What a monster chip, paired with the 8gb ram. I am happy to report that this phone works perfect with T-Mobile network! Again, thank you Frankie, as your reviews of this phone really lead me to purchase the Mate 20 x!

This was a GREAT FAQ. Please keep doing these in a similar format, especially covering Band support. When I first heard about the Mate 20X, I thought it was the best value for money. You may not get wireless charging, reverse wireless charging, the 3D Face Unlock of the Mate 20 Pro, but you get the same camera, more screen real estate, a headphone jack and a bigger battery. I've narrowed my next phone down to this or the Note 9. It's gonna come down to pricing.

Respectfully disagree. I am an avid Note user, have been since its 3rd iteration and have owned each model year including my 512/8 Gig Note 9. I don't believe I am in the minority. However, I do believe in your point and the direct correlation between Samsung's Plus variants to address those looking for Note like large screen but no stylus input. Cheers.

After much debating with myself I finally decided to purchase the Mate 20 X, it is a lot of money I will admit, however Frankie I hope you will think the phone will cover the 3 main things I look for in a phone these days. 1. Good Battery 2. Good Camera 3. Good Sound to listen to Music while On the go. What do you reckon Frankie? Do you reckon this will be a good choice? I got mines from eBay from a Hong Kong dealer with a pen for $850 and free shipping which came within a week. The phone is awesome and am still learning it's multiple features. I've yet to get the nano memory card which is difficult to get in the US. Works well with TMobile and the reception is a tad better than my Samsung S9+. I find that some of my app doesn't work well because it's a newer Android version and the app is older.

Yes and the infrared feature that Samsung left out is on this phone to control your TV, cable box, etc. It's also pretty neat to knock on the screen to capture an image or activate sound recording. It also works with the Samsung Gear watch. The pictures are awesome with the wide, normal and telephoto lenses that rivals the Galaxy S9 Plus. And last but not least the battery life is incredible.

You say it does not have LED notification yet KiMovil says that it does, which is it? I'm leaning towards you as I don't see where it would be placed and they may have just overlooked it on the site update since almost all phones have this. If it has none what does it do just a graphic notice on the always on screen? Believe it or not this might be a dealbreaker for me and I really wanted it for the 7.2" screen after my 7" Mediapad x2 died. I'm guessing with the 19:9 ratio it isn't even as big as the 7" 16:9 mediapad. Might have to live with my 6.4" xiaomi mi mix. If you can respond confirming the LED question that would help me a lot.

The Fortress Price of $6,088 includes the M-Pen, Flip Cover and a power bank. If you use a Hang Seng Bank credit card, it's an extra $150 off. If you buy from Wilson, they will give a $200 discount plus the above accessories with Bluetooth speaker. Lastly, the Flip Cover has a slot for the M-Pen which makes this a worthy challenger to the Note 9. BTW, I use the S-Pen. The pen falls off on its own when I put it back into the slot after two years because I use the pen so much.

I’m using the XS Max too! And the Pixel 3 XL, and this phone haha. I won’t sell my XS Max because it’s my main shooter for the channel, and has the best video camera in a phone. But if you’re looking to jump over to Android world this definitely isn’t a bad option.

Great video, thank you very much! I have a very specific but important question regarding charging, and charging time. Both the Pro and X modela s have fast charging. But the fast charging on the Pro model, uses a stronger charger and the phone will charge much quicker than the X. So my question is, if using the Pro charger on the X (or another charger that is stronger than the one that comes in the box of the X), will the aX actually charge faster?

It's just a software difference, some menus with Chinese characters, some Chinese apps and yellow pages are integrated into the dialer, "ok Google" not working, you have to do some tricks to change launcher, need to download play store etc. 8/256 is China exclusive while 6/128 is either China or global.

Thanks Mr. Tee! Yeah the P20 Pro still has a very comparable camera quality and is speedy enough, but Huawei is just getting better and better with every release in terms of build quality, performance and audio.

Like, Home Pics, Office Pics, Fun Pics, Whatsapp Pics, Home Vids, Office Vids, Whatsapp Vids, etc.. Same way as Samsung allows to make sub folders in the Gallery, plus transfer of Photos and Videos from one folder to another. Is that allowed on Huawei Mate 20 X. Hey Frankie. I like this format of review ☺ great FAQs ☺ I've read in some reviews and videos that the "Gluegate" issue that was on the Mate20pro was because of the AMOLED provided. If you get a Mate20pro with an Amoled from LG, chances are youre gonna get gluegate. If you get the Amoled from Samsung youre all good ☺ at least thats what i heard

hello Mr frankie tech, i would love to ask u about the screen..i own the huawei mate 20x one thing i noticed whenever i stare directly at the screen straght theres kinda yellowish filter somehow (even i already set the display to be cold temp mode) but when i stare the phone on the side like moving to the side...the yellowish gone..but moving back straight there yellowish tint reappear..it kinda bugs me a bit..so i am wondering if ur unit is the same or is it my unit got some issues or is it typical for oled screed to be like that?
