Huawei became my top 3 flag manufacturer after samsung and lg. I could see myself buying my next flag from huawei. A year ago i would only consider samsung or lg flags. I hope huawei use oled panels in all their flag devices from this year.

Yeah, the mate 9 pro is the game changer. To add to what you wrote, imo the mate 9 should have been speced as premium as the 9 pro because a lot of people buy 6" display and would want the top spec for it as well. If i had to buy a new device now i would be forced to buy the 9 pro even though i prefer bigger display which the mate 9 has.

Great review. You're a fantastic photographer. One question though - the camera lenses look raised. Are they likely to get scratched when the phone is resting on a flat surface?

+Aaron Whiting glad to hear this! but also coz the mate9 is capable of shooting great pictures the lens is raised, but the tilted angle when the bottom edge of the camera module meets the table, the majority of the lens will not touch the table at all :)

I think that You have the possibility to try the both of them... so I'm hoping for a little advice or a short personal opinion. (I understand that a vs between the two may be to much in shot time). Great review! Huawei Mate 9 Pro, OnePlus 3T, Vivo Xplay 6, Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe (ZS570KL) or something else? Last phone was a Samsung S6 Edge (all my phones have been Samsung I think) and I can't decide, any help? Main thing is multi-tasking power. Video quality (audio recording especially) and low-light photos come secondary but yet a bit important.

+Ricardo Rivero the s8 is just around the corner, still 2 months tho the Leica dual lens on the mate9 will remain unique, the s8 might do a little better in benchmarks, but the mate9 is already fast and iphone like, so it doesn't matter see how the Samsung branding and water resistant are important to u :)

Samsung branding is not important to me. I just want don't want to get ripped off paying for something, when two months ahead it will be twice as better. $800-900 is a huge amount of money, and I'm hoping my next phone last me for at least three years. Some things I really wish I had in my note 4 is a better low light camera, battery life, and water resistant. I'm sure the Mate 9 Pro can deliver the low light camera and do pretty good on the battery, but not the water resistant. The Samsung will probably do good on water resistant and low light, I don't know about the battery but my guess is we will see an improvement over S7 but maybe the same as Mate 9 Pro. Then the question would be pricing. How much will Samsung sell their phones for

Jay J The edge on Mate 9 pro is very subtle and not drastic unlike S7 Edge which one finds better in mate 9 pro! Fingerprint is extremely fast probably the fastest and more! An amazing phone in itself :)
