Honestly think if the us hadnt kneecapped huawei they'd be outselling samsungs by now. They make amazing hardware but the app situation and underpowered chipsets make them a no go for me. Probably still more powerful than a tensor though...

You will be getting Harmony not EMUI with this phone and if you upgrade to Harmony Next at the moment their is not much apps you can get sideloaded.

as a huawei user, i really have to say I love huawei phones, BUT this non-Google thing makes it almost unusable for me. I am aware of some alternatives like Gbox which I currently use but it feels super slugish and unnatural on a 2022 phone, and I have to say this is not, at all, a small compromise as maybe uncle spurt has made it seem.... I am really looking forward to switching phones even though I love this brand and wish they could have kept rising...

It's still Android but as you've stated there's no Google Play Services. Not sure how they manage to survive. Manually installing APK files and workarounds doesn't sound like a good business model.

Why do Huawei phones, Xiaomi and BBK sub brand phones such as Oppo and Vivo etc all look the same? they all have the same faux leather backs and then the exact same circular camera component. Without proper google, and half baked SW (personal opinions based on p60 pro and mate x5), this phone have too big compromised. Huawei phone great on hardware but SW (put aside google aspect) unpolished & inconsistent UI from certain page to page. Even with lighthouse and gbox, it just mediocre at best.
