I found s9 very boring. Its not a big upgrade from the s8. P20, on the other hand, brought some excitement with its striking design and innovative camera setup...Best flagship in 2018 so far.

I think it's a solid phone to get. It's really about the software and getting use to it. My thing is can you use another launcher on it? I tend to now and days in any phone I get. And if it won't be available on Amazon or a website I frequent to buy then I'm not looking at it anyway. Plus not a fan of notch, hide or not, and headphone jack removal

NeoDaOne yes you can use another launcher on this. I have the P20 Pro and first thing I did was install Nova Launcher. The notch is really not an issue and can be turned off anyway.... As for no headphone jack, the P20 puts out Hi Res Bluetooth audio... So just use some Bluetooth headphones and you won't notice any difference :)

Unfortunately you can see slight evidence of the PenTile fizz that affects the 1080p P20 pro OLEDs that don’t have insane pixel density. This is caused by OLED’s pixels sharing sub-pixels, reducing perceived resolution. It's £799 1080 panel is not good enough, kindest regards Richard U.K

The changing color on the p20 pro is sweet but My main deal breakers here is the notch even if you can hide it no thx, no headphone jack, no expandable storage (regardless if 128gb+) and no wireless charging. Sorry Huawei.

Huawei phones are quickly becoming the best phones you can buy if you can find them here in America. I will quickly pick a Huawei phone over a Samsung phone anytime even as of last year. The only reason I would get a Samsung phone over a Huawei phone is just because of phone support and accessories. Sure the phone and the software is not perfect but what phone is? Sure you get 1080p plus screens instead of QHD but honestly you won't really care as the screen is beautiful regardless. And hell Huawei battery life is among the best if not the best. I like Huawei phones people think it has gimmicky futures I for one like the gestures and features it makes for a more fun an interactive engaging experience. Huawei can take down Samsung as king of smartphones but we all know the US won't let that happen. Now I'm not a fan of this notch crap just like I'm not a fan of this 18.9 aspect ratio thing I'd rather stay 16.9 hell I'm still using the original Nexus 6 for crying out loud. But I feel like I would eventually don't mind the notch I'm gonna have to get use to it as phone makers are going with the notch.

I thought "AI" was supposed to make it easier to take pictures. So why the muddled mess of a camera software package?? Smart software should be able to determine when HDR is to be used...or automatically detect a nighttime shot. Huawei has no idea what the term "artificial intelligence" means. The truth is that if this had a samsung stamp and the s9+ had a Huawei stamp everyone would be bitching about the Samsung and praising the Huawei anyway. Samsung should take a 1 year break from making flagships so that people that like to complain would see what it has done for us the consumer. Say what you will, say that it's expensive, say that it isn't a revolution over the S8, etc etc. Phone screens would not be what they are without samsung, design wouldn't be what it is, SOCs would not be what they are, phones would not be the size that they are, half the software on vanilla oreo android would not exist, among so many other things. Give me back the 980 euros my S9+ cost where I live and as a consumer I would just go back to the store and buy it again. No one in the android smartphone industry is fighting hand to hand with samsung. Samsung is on a horse, everyone else is on foot trying to catch up. The S9+ is and will be 2018's no compromises phone, the only no compromises phone. Hell, it is so above everyone else that people have to complain about more than 6 hours of screen on time on a charge. To sum it up, I think that the p20pro is a solid phone, and as a consumer I wish that it was miles better than the S9+, since competition is what invites innovation, but is not. People claiming that it is better or atleast a match for it are doing a disservice for everyone spending their hard earned money and sending a message to Huawei that making a barely 2017 phone in Q2 2018 is okay because people like it anyway. Priced where the p90 is? Amazing. Priced 70 euros from the S9+ that beats it by a long shot in every single category except battery and camera (if you believe DX0 the camera is better, if you watch comparisons and reviews you know that it is not), it's a solid no go.

The P20 Pro is literally the first perfect phone for me. Battery life and camera are basically the most important pillars for me, and for most people I'd say so is the case. Nobody gives a damn about cpu bemchmarks anymore. P20 Pro is a great looking phone with a great screen (sure the s9 has a better screen, but screens aren't really very different from one another), the best battery life on the market and the best camera on the market by quite a long shot. No competition is even close to being close to their camera. Especially not if you actually know what you're doing as a photographer. The P20 Pro ticks all the boxes, and since Samsung doesn't use stock android either it doesn't hands down beat it in that regard either.

thank you for honesty .the cameras ore outstanding, but i'm very happy with my s9 plus, i am not a huge photo person but the ones i have taken are great and so easy to use. main reason i won't get the p20 pro is the notch sure you can black it out which i could deal with except the stupid fingerprint placement what a waste of space the notches on the s9;s are smaller than even a thickness of a notch they just go all the way a long. second looks to much like ios why can't people just do there own. the icons look a little smaller finally. but not a huge fan of there ui, and honestly when you get a ohone you like sure customise it i do but putting all these launchers and stuff on defeats the purpose. but i understand why and one day i might try it but i like the s9's the way they are and the pro to much camera stuff unless you know what your doing as for battery my s9 plus has been off charge for 27 and a half hours with aprox 14 hours left which i won't get if i watch youtube but still so far 4 hours 50 min sot 4 hours youtube and and still has 37 percent battery so no complaints here

Overrated. Skip both, mate 10 pro with LCD (P20) and heavily overrated P20 pro. Mate 20 will crash both. SD in 2019 too, fp sensor under display, 5g, new designs are coming. For asked price, these phones are way too expensive and will soon be completely forgotten.

What even possibly could? The only real consequence I could imagine is if my CC info got stolen, and unauthorized charges happened. But they didn't. NSA can easily get "inside your phone" btw. Backdoors. In fact that's probably why they advise against chinese phones, they cant put their hardware backdoors in those. But I dont care about the NSA either. I mean I do, but I dont. Anyways, continue being stupid. Like I said, Huawei seems to be one of the few manufacturers healthy anhd releasing flagships or interesting budget phones too.
