Love your channel but you did forget some very important things. 1. 40 mp raw The 10mp files are ok but it's way too much on the sharpening. When you use the 40mp raw option you will be blown away. With the 40mp you can also use noise reduction afterwards. 2. Nightmode is not mentioned This is a magic mode. 4 seconds exposure without tripod that turn out loads of details and Dynamics 3. You can disable ai (which I do) 4. Huawei share Make the phone appear as a network share for easy transport between phone Mac and PC. 5. You can set the camera up for double press the volume button to just start up the camera without taking the shot. So you're in the camera mode within 0.3 seconds ready to take the shot 6. 1080p video is the smoothest I ever saw from any phone. 4k is.... Well not garbage but it's not good if you need stabilization indeed. 7. Would be nice to mention the supercharge option which can recharge the battery really fast. Much faster than my iPhone and note 8 ever did. And taking into account the battery is a lot larger. No review can be complete but I think for cameras these are very important. Don't see it as critique btw. Just adding my thoughts ;)

I totally agree, in addition the camera is really excellent. When you shoot with low light condition you have to go manual if you are a professional, and I can ensure that Huawei P20 Pro captures every detail and is far above all the other cameras I tried. Unfortunately they did not put stabilization in 4K.

I own this phone. The camera comments from MKBHD here are not completely accurate. He is talking about 10mp auto shots. 40mp shots from this phone are insanely amazing. No over sharpening etc... I think this camera deserevs a more comprehensive review. It's the best camera I have ever used. Photos need editing and post processing yes but after you twick them they are the best and years ahead of other smart phone cameras.

With Marques being such a fan of videography, I'm surprised he never reviewed the *LGV30.* Not just because of the 2nd camera being wide angle (much more useful than telephoto), but because it records in Log format. It's in the UK. I just bought one at Vodafone and they are deffo trying to push these models. I don't blame them it's nearly half the price monthly. It's an amazing phone I love mine. I came into the store looking for a Galaxy and even though it would make them more money they recommended this phone. Thoughts: --The chipset is better than last year's snapdragon 835 - worth mentioning --The "Smart Screenshot feature" which you "disabled" (but thought it didn't turn off still) is actually a quick app launch or split screen feature which can both be disabled in Settings-Smartassistance-motioncontrol --You can choose to take pictures in 40 megapixels. --Ultra snapshot feature can be changed to only open the camera app and not take a photo immediately. --For low light pictures you did not use or even mention the (yes, AI-powered) Night Mode which is pretty incredible.

I owned one, the camera is amazing when you play around with the setting, in auto point and shoot, it's a hit and miss. But currently there is a lot of problem with the software, hopefully the next update can fixed that.

Also, no mention of their battery charging which is pretty darn good considering massive size of the battery. And yes, the UI can make you remind of the Samsung skins but EMUI is super fast even after months of use which is very unlike Samsung's. Just my observations. But yeah, you are the man..!

I absolutely adore this phone. By far the best phone I've ever owned. Night mode on the camera is absolutely insane. The video at 60fps is so, so smooth. The front camera is fantastic. The speakers are good and basey and have Dolby sound. Screen is amazing. Just a wonderful phone.

theBusterben Um yeah... I think everyone knows that the branding doesn't have any functional uses. The point is that in my opinion, and the opinion of many others, the way the branding is presented gives the back of the phone a unique aesthetical appeal to it. Like the fonts they used and the way they alligned it horizontally, just looks very elegant and artistic. Personally, I found when MKBHD removed all the branding the back looked oddly empty and plain. The text overall gives a professional and elegant vibe too it, not to mention that it's placed very neatly.

The main difference with TouchWiz and EMUI is that EMUI is optimized so much better from my experience. One problem with EMUI though is that some app compatibility is non-existant. Meaning that some apps will not even work on EMUI.

I would buy this phone because of the camera. The pictures look amazing almost as good as a professional camera. I first heard about this phone when I've seen some photos taken by a professional photographer and I really could't believe that they were taken with a phone. Today, I've seen another person who posted some pictures on FB and I know she has an iPhone but these pictures she posted today looked so good I wanted to ask her what camera she used.... until I got to the last one who had the phone logo on the bottom of the picture. AMAZING PHOTOS WITHOUT A DOUBT! I wish they offered this phone in the U.S. too. I did find the international model on ebay but I'm reluctant to buy it not knowing if it will really work ok with tmobile. I'm not crazy about the no SD card and non removable battery but for a great camera in a phone, I'm willing to overlook that. Great review, thanks!

Not a chance. The sensor is far too small and the lens nowhere near the quality needed to match a "professional camera". A consumer DSLR with a kit lens is not "professional". A $2000+ body with $2000+ (or sometimes far more) lenses is "professional", and no phone will EVER match that kind of quality.

Very awesome video but you missed one of the best features of the camera: AIS (AI Image Stabilization) which will allow you to take a 6 second handheld exposure for in low light which will drastically improve image quality. (Oh and also you can select to shoot 40MP photos instead of 10MP if you want that)

Kirin970 has NPU, which optimizes the performance of the phone over time, will store your biometric data and not share it with government, translates language and so on. The display is RGBW which is not addressed. The chipset has download and upload speeds way higher than any chipset. Huawei chose not to do OIS in 4K recording(not chipset's fault, don't know why people want to do 4K recording and eat up space). And its a liitle cheaper than S9+, Pixel2XL and a boring IphoneX(who is following android's trends and doing nothing special). P20 is still not perfect, but it is the best in town. Period.
