I just love how Huawei is bringing in many new stuff. Apple is kinda behind in technology. Samsung is getting better at their softwares, and they are also bringing in new technology. Overall, Huawei is in the lead of bringing new technology, and Samsung and Apple are just behind. Incredible work for a young smartphone company

Jack Skellington Yea thats what i mean, we all agree that even the newest iPhones have battery capacities that other Brands already had 5 years ago, that the camera isnt the best, also since Jobs isnt there anymore Apple has a big lack of innovation in my opinion, but this apple vs all android phones fight is damn useless, because noone with a healthy brain & tech knowledge would say that the iPhone specs are better than the e.g. Huawai specs, and that will never be the reason to buy an iPhone in the future anyway, other brands are developing faster and with much more innovation. I bought my First iPhone last year, and i dont regret it, its Not about the value of specs, its about the seamless compatibility with iPad & AirPods, i like that, and thats nothing android can give me at the moment, but i dont mind to buy an Android phone if they provide me that compatibilty between all the brands that use android and the Long period of big updates, like 2-3 years After i bought my phone, my Galaxy S7 got 1 big android Update IIRC, and thats just Not what i want (i know, google provides more & faster updates for their Pixel phones)

@@hauke572 Apple is now as they were then. Just as jobs created them. They were never that innovative to begin with. It's exactly the way jobs made it. It's just finally catching up to them. The only difference between jobs and now is they admitted a mistake or two and expanded their specs a bit. So minutely better. They even stole the names iPhone and iPad. I think they even copied the company name. The issue is they never have actually offered anything worth their prices. And the s7 got more than one update. If it only got one that meant you got it after it had updated. Nor does just getting updated make something better. And that goes for pixel and iPhone. Granted Samsung and others should provide more updates. But Samsung already has the most advanced software on phones. And puts out more phones. So their updates do take more time. And pretty much any Android is overall more advanced in software out of box than an iPhone will be even after its final update. And the nightmare plague that a lot of ios updates have been the last few years is nothing to be proud of.

@@jackskellington9570 Yeah they did some shit to the battery life of some devices - but as stated above - its all seamlessly integrated into one eco system. Without any apps or whatever. It fits my purpose right now. Im no Apple Fanboy, and i dont blame Samsung for their Updates, its just that i dont like it the way they do it. I like the new One UI, thats a gamechanger in my opinion, and i also think that Huawai could change the smartphone-camera market with their new camera sensor, but it still doesnt fit my need's, it not what i want. And i totally agree that Apples prices are hilarious lol, i dont know if they randomly generate them or what ever, but those Smartphones shouldn't cost 1,5k if maxed out. But my iPhone X was worth it for me, because i've never had any problems with soft/hardware of it, and im happy with it. So it doesn't matter what it costs, i would rather pay 1349€ and look at the device day for day and think that im happy with it, than pay 999€ and just think yeah thats my phone nice but im not completely happy. If any brand (or even better - android) provides me the complete simplicity and integration of all products like iOS with some nice smartwatches, tablets like the ipad + pencil, i would switch the ecosystem by tomorrow (and i absolutely hope that happens). Like i said, its not that i love apple, nor i think the prices are good as they are, they are shit, but its the integration into iOS of all the products.

It is not the first 10x zoom camera phone. While HuaweiP30 has 10x hybrid zoom, Samsung Galaxy K Zoom had 10x optical zoom. I would still be using the K Zoom, but Android version is not updated anymore, making the phone useless. The optical zoom of K Zoom has not met its match yet in phone cameras.

It has a 1/1.7" sensor which is in most digital cameras and only some vry exp point and shoot like SONY RX and panasonic z100 or sth has 1 inch sensors. With the AI and image stabilisation, it is no wonder the camera performs so well in low light. Kudos to huawei for cramping in so much camera feature

The pictures you have shown were not great, to be honest. The night mode shots were unnatural, and seems too heavily edited. The shots from P30 aren't so good compared to what Huawei markets. 5x and 10x zoom is okay but unnecessary especially if the output picture isn't sharp and have lost its details.

If you know the difference between jpeg and png photo files, then there's your simplified explanation. Digital zoom is basically a normal photo that is cropped. Lossless zoom is where you take a part of a high resolution photo together with the 5x optical zoom photo to create a 10x zoomed photo where there's more or less no noticeable different. The main camera of the p30 pro shoots in 40 megapixels, which is ridiculously much, so in standard mode, it will take a picute with the 40 megapixels camera and combine every 4th pixel to create a really detailed 10mb camera. If you look at a 40 megapixels picture on a phone screen then you won't see the difference from a 10 megapixels picture unless you zoom in on the pictures. So the 40 megapixels camera takes a cropped image and combines it with the 5x optical zoomed image to create a zoomed "10 megapixel lossless image".

@@becky.l4881 optical is always the best of course, as the zoom is fixed into the lens. Lossless or hybrid, or whatever the phone manufacturer calls it, is the next best thing. Digital is basically if you take a normal picture, crops it and then make it full-screen, which will reduce the quality. So digital is kind of worthless unless the phone can artificially process the picture to enhance it, which is what I think the huawei p30 pro does, because it's really pushing the ai-card on the newer devices. Which can be great or bad depending on the usage. Probably good for zooming, and bad if it makes colors unrealistic.

Even though they call it 50x digital zoom, I wouldn't say it's only digital. Probably a little hybrid+ai processing+digital of course.

I had a play with the P30 demo display phones at work earlier. Was shocked to see the Pro's colours looking dull and unnatural looking when zoomed in, yet the standard P30's looked perfect. Perhaps just an issue with the demo phone? 🤔

Great work on the photos, but for a 1000 EUR flagship the high-security 3D face-recognition and the ultrasonic fingerprint-reader, should be a given. Wish you'd run the same tests with the simple P30.

IPhone xs max is like 1300 euros and only has 3d face recognition. Where's the given ultrasonic fingerprint-reader on there? Samsung galaxy s10+ doesn't have 3d face-recognition. I wouldn't say it's given to have both these features on a 1000 euro phone. The only flagship phone I can think of right now that got both these features is the mate 20 pro. Personally I prefer a larger screen and no 3d-recognition, as long as the device has an ultrasonic fingerprint-reader.
