I'm still on a Huawei P9 lite (2016 setup) right now and after 3 years of usage it's still running smoothly facing the worse specs compared to the later models. Only thing that really bothers me is the "only" 16 GB of ROM, which get quite a bit too little after some time. So the actual point is that you really get a decent performance for a very fair price compared to the "big brothers". I also ordered a P30 lite just today. We'll see if it will do the job as good as the P10 lite 😉 Gonna keep the old one in the backhand though, just in case the P30 lite would ever pass out

I accidentally dropped my p30 lite in the toilet and it was fully submerged (it was before I went) but it's comtety fine and works exactly the same. I also dropped it outside of school overnight and it rained lightly and also froze because it was the middle of winter and its still completely fine and works great still. Its still like brand new. So I'd say its a great phone

good review but if you go into a topic like battery life try to get the average SOT numbers for real use. as you mentioned the mAh doesnt matter with different hardware setups so citing those as battery performance is useless

Wireless charging is needless, almost a gimmick. P30's camera complex is only important if you're a pro photographer. P30 pro is too large for pocket use, ergonomics etc. P30 regular is common sense with value for money as well.

nice and very detailed video...i would mention that the p30 pro has an under-screen front speaker which is not a regular speaker...its more like a little vibrating stuff..i cant say anything about the sound quality probably there are no differences but it helps the waterproofing

Unfortunately as people want better and better camera specs, they become harder to fit into the phone body. It's just physics. So it's always a trade-off - there are phones out there that don't have camera bumps (the recent LG flagships, for example) but camera performance then tends to be worse (or the phone has to be thicker) - Dom

All round the P30 lite has additional features that are inspiring, but a difference of only say £40 will draw people to buying the Samsung A50. Why? Partly because people believe the 48mp lens is a gimmick, due to the zoom on the camera of the phone being useless, and software rather then an actual lens. And the sensors on the camera being much much lower . The A50 camera is considered the better camera because it has a 8mp wide screen lens that takes in more light and a 5mp depth sensor. I use the following calc to compare cameras, make then both the have the same highest lens setting of the camera with the lower lens value the do the following: a50=25mp+8mp+5mp/3 = 12.66, P30 lite 48mp+8mp+2mp/3=19.3, but this only compare megapixels and when both phones use the same value of 25 mp A50 is still better camera. When embedding the light intake to both camera as follows with (25mp*1/1.7)+(8mp*1/2.2)+(5mp*1/2.2)/3. The A50 camera score is nearly 3 times higher, and actually the depth sensor is used in all photos so must not be over looked. I actually believe the zoom on both camera is crap and for me is the major factor when looking at cameras on phones. A50 = (14.70)+(3.63)+(2.27)/3=6.8 P30 lite=(3.13)+(3.3)+(0.8)/3=2.41 The difference between the phones now become about the features the phones offers, and ones preference for displays. The A50 being capable of 100,000 more clock cycles per second per cpu (which makes a distinct difference in term of running programs), and everything else being much the same on both phones; meaning if P30 lite were cheaper that it is, it would be the winner all out, but its price range is still too close to the A50, or maybe the A50 should be cheaper what do you all think? In all both phones are brilliant (and demostrate the ridiculous cost and pomp of an iPhone) for the prices range they are in and there is no other phone to chose at £200 other than the P30 lite (in this price range there is not other competitor) but if you have an extra £40 then most may buy the A50...for the slightly larger AmoLED screen with rosier colours, and a better camera, why Huawei didn't use a 5mp depth sensor at base minimum is bizarre in this day and age...and just destroys the 48mp lens or idea surrounding their camera...

I don't care about proccessor battery and camera specs anymore. My last phone failed when the headphone jack wouldn't functuion unless you held it in place on the phone and the usb c port would only connect if you put the phone on the table amd didn't move it. Never had a phone that failed in this way before. Will never be buying an LG phone again. Now I'm just concerned about the p30 lite having a cheaper, lesser quality headphone jack and usb port soldered on which won't last as long.

Also I'd choose P30 Pro because it's Camera Zoom and it's Giant battery. But specs wise Yes the P30 and P30 Pro have the Kirin 980. I think P30 has 6 to 8gb ram and P30 Pro 8 to 12gb ram

Well, the answer is simple: P30 is an obvious choice here. It has the best camera between these three and the best CPU. It really is a smaller version of P30 Pro so it beats the other two by quite the margin. Leica camera is really in the whole other league compared to others. Keep your choices clever and get yourself a P30! ;)
