No black and white test? With no RGB split, can capture 3x the amount of light in black and white than a standard sensor would have been nice to see

Great comparison! Surprising both camera's suffer from a horrible frame skipping, how could anyone not notice that? Plz do some low light comparisons with street lights? would be great to see how it does in mixed lighting environments, we'd also be able to judge lens flare and chromatic aberrations as well.

i wanted to buy g5 but due to screen retention problems. i think i'll pass. pro mode is where the p9 will shine. can battle g5 head on in pro mode. as a phone i have seen that the g5 throttle during some high end games and the p9 is doing great handling games

The g5 is so cheap today... I order a new one from ebay for 250$. Snap 820, 4gb ram (140000 antutu), awersomes cameras, usb C, quad hd screen..... This is amazing.

That doesn't make any sense at all the Honor 7 is different from the P9. Michele does have a point since the Honor 8 is basically a Huawei P9 with a different glass build, a Kirin 950 instead of a 955, and rebranded as the Honor 8 for cheaper. There's very little difference between those two, though for the camera software the Honor 8 does produce more saturation and punchy colors instead of the more natural looks of the P9 images.

The G5 certainly has the better camera. Was Leica even sure when they approved their name to be showcased on the back of the P9? Because it certainly isn't doing them any favors. It may take better photos when the PRO mode is utilized, but many consumers prefer to shoot most of the time in auto. Which is where the competition is really good at.

The post-sharpening on the G5 is so artificially strong it hurts my eyes. Why does no one notice that? Huawei photos can be brought to that level just by adding a sharpening filter to the original image. The video on P9 is bad though.
