Its crazy how a phone this price is considered 'budget' nowadays. People pay £800/$1000 for a flagship phone, then use about 5% of its capability hahah, such a waste. Thanks for the video. Looks decent enough to meet every day needs.

Very good point..All these different camera modes do my head in...I've also discovered that I can use an external U.S.B. microphone with this phone for much improved audio quality. I notice that the audio recorded from the camera microphone is very low in volume.

The video looks great. I chose this phone because it looks beautiful and I don't have to pay extra with my upgrade from Freedom Mobile. I still get to keep my excellent phone plan too. I haven't used it yet but I have had Huawei in the past and fell in love with it. For me the camera GPS and office apps are important. I use Samsung a lot and tried Apple. HUAWEI is a combination of the best of both worlds. I will report on the phone in a few days.

I paid 200€ for this Phone for my Father and in compare with my Samsung s10 which I use it's amazing fot that money. Camera is solid, he is rly fast, battery life is extreme good and looks great. Sound of that mono speaker is on the crapy side.

When I try to upload videos to my phone's "Safe", the video disappears and it won't be there or on my videos roll. I thought that they might be on my Drive or Photos but they are not. This has happened twice already. Where do you think my videos are?

I would go for the Lite, the Mi 8 doesn't take that suberb selfies and the selfie on the p30 lite also has stabilization.

For her usage, P30 lite should be way better. If she shoots more videos than taking pictures, then Mi8 is better but for photography P30 lite is good enough.

If you don't care about a wide angle lense, I'm sure the overall performance on S8 is better. But I guess you should choose S8+ rather than S8.

I've had a Galaxy s8 and I now have a Huawei P30 Lite. While the Galaxy s8 was good and functional it is now getting a bit long in the tooth. It has now been superseded, and we're now on Galaxy s10 and soon 11! As for the P30 Lite what can I say? Well I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised. While it's not a flagship, it has plenty going for it. 1. Stunning looks especially Peacock Blue 2. Three rear and one front camera which are pretty good and many and numerous options i'm still discovering. 3. Onboard. 128gb of storage. 4. An adequate gaming machine. 5. And a rarity, a headphone jack point, along with type C charging. As I said while not flagship quality for the price it's a steal! Which do I prefer? While I was always a Samsung diehard, I think as a company they are pricing themselves out of the market. Huawei have brought to the table an exciting and innovative range of phones at an affordable price. I now have the P30 lite and the phone ticks all the boxes and the price cannot be beat. Hope I've been of some help. I will add at time of sending this text the Huawei P30 lite is on sale at £279:99 at Carphone Warehouse. Even more of a steal!

I had the mi 8 for a long time as well, and I feel that 1, because of the wide angle lens you can make more interesting shots, the night mode / low light pics are better and the same counts for selfies. The mi 8 is a bit better with video though, mainly because it captures in a higher resolution and bit rate but then again, the audio bitrate on the Xiaomi is terrible..
