Huawei Watch GT3 Hands-On: Best Looking Premium Smartwatch IMO

Huawei's newest smartwatch, the Watch GT 3 packs a 1.43-inch OLED display, with a stainless steel body. I love how it looks but too bad it doesn’t let me respond to notifications.

As a runner, I did not realize how complete the stats for my runs were on my gt2 pro out of the box and took it for a fact that all smartwatches had the same functionalities. However it became a pain when I tried to teach my sister how to run and she had an iwatch 5. Using the Maffetone running method, having voice cues for heart rate was essential and we lost so much time trying different apps which lead to nothing. Maybe because we did not try the paying functions, but it is heartbreaking when you compare to something that is free and working exactly the way you want with your watch gt2 pro.

I'm still using the original GT also. I'm waiting to see if the battery is starting to die. If it gets to 1 week battery, I'll probably get a GT2 Pro, as it probably would be cheaper than the GT3

Accurate review! I'm using the gt2 pro and the titanium casing + sapphire crystal + ceramic back feels really premium and I have no worries of scratches or bumps. Now only if I could respond to whatsapp messages!

Nice review, Ben. I have the GT2 and I love it. For me it does enough to be able to read texts and take phone calls. It came with leather and silicone straps so can look quite sharp when dressed up

I just checked their website and there's no GT3 with a silver bezel. What a shame... I will never understand why do they put a black bezel on a silver watch. Make up your mind! Either make an all black watch or an all silver one. I guess I'm sticking to my old galaxy watch for another year 🤦‍♂️

Hey Ben- just to let you know, i bought the GT3 after your recommendation. Recent HK firmware updates allow you to instant reply to Whatsapp, FB messenger and I think telegram with predefined quick reply. SO maybe your gripe on the not being able to respond to notification may not be true anymore.

Have you found the 46mm battery is accurate at 14 days? My GT2 lasts 14 days but doesn't run Harmony OS and has no App Store. And even the similar Huawei Watch 3 only lasts 3 days. 14 days for a proper smartwatch is unheard of. Thanks.

Does the Hart rate sensor work if you have a tattoo on you wrist as they have changed the sensor. The gt2 I have to keep buying discs to put over the sensor to make it work it would be cool if that has been sorted

i have watch 3 pro, but i want to get another huawei watch because the watch 3 has short battery and to get 21 days i have to go to ultra power saving mode where there are only health and fitness apps and nothing to do. no stopwatch, no calculator, no timer, no voice recording... I don't know what huawei is thinking. I was thinking about getting the gt3 but it looks very similar to the watch 3 pro already. So i'll probably buy the gt2 pro

I found an international version of this on amazon.. Currently live in the US, where huawei is kinda frowned upon, but this looks incredible. I also use ios, and I’ve heard that a lot of the features of this (swapping watch faces, GPS tracking, etc.) do not function in the US. Can anyone in the US that owns this and uses iOS confirm this?

No blood pressure, ecg and sleep monitoring...which samsung and apple watch have. This features are very important for health conscious people nowadays.

It does have sleep monitoring and it works pretty well for sleep time. Blood pressure and ECG are gimmicks in my opinion. An ECG is done with 12 leads instead of 2 and blood pressure in the galaxy watch needs a genuine cuf blood pressure monitor to calibrate the device every month

If not because of Trump, Huawei would eat a lot of Samsung and Apple easily. I've has Huawei watch since the first GT. I travelled 3weeks during the pandemic. I never bothered bringing my charger. Had my watch at full brightness setting. I got back home and had 7% battery left. That was probably good for another day. The Apple watch is good upto 18 hours. Huawei can last more than 18 DAYS easily.

I have a band 6 and it's amazing!, But the software... Yeah, it's kinda of lacking for some reason, if they fixed that they would be the best in the market for smartbands, and maybe that could extrapolated to smartwatches too. I like what Samsung is doing with their watches, but their sensors aren't as accurate as the ones from apple and they still have a day of battery which I find it been a HUGE issue, I won't buy a smartwatch until they make then last at least two to three days, also Samsung smartbands are... Cheap, they had less sensors than other brands and a high price from what they are :/.

There's really nothing protecting the screen against accidental hits. I have a galaxy watch and the screen is like sitting inside a crater, I always hit it with tables, doors and walls, the bezel takes the hit yet the screen is still scratch free. With this huawei watch I'm afraid the screen will not last that long... But it looks dope tho, maybe I'll get it if it's available with a silver bezel.

There are a lot of differences between them. The big 3 differences is that the watch 3/ 3 pro has eSim calling, WiFi and NFC and better hardware I think. I'm not sure if there's any other big ones but I hope I was able to help you 😁

The 14 days announced is if you use it as a smart-band, on the other hand in true SmartWatch mode it is 2 days max like the others. But it is clear that it is beautiful even if for me the most beautiful SmartWatch of the moment is the Fossil Gen 6 also with the most beautiful interface (icons and graphics are too beautiful).
