Hubert played very well too, but Grigor's luck and good play prevented him, and also Hubi's anger in some situations in the match. Nevertheless, both of them showed very good tennis

Grigor is legit top-10 in 2024! Been playing well consistently, while also providing us plenty of magic moments. Only thing missing is a big title! He is probably playing even better than 2017(at least in my opinion) and that just goes to show how much tougher competition is atm comparatively.

Real shame that Hurkacz is out, slightly surprised to see it was in straight sets, but Dimitrov is playing some of his finest tennis at the moment. Delgado has made a real difference to his game.

Judging from these few highlights only, this for me is the match of the tournament so far. Two great players bringing a fun and diverse game with plenty of highlight-reel points... all the while no stupid noises - only the odd labored grunt.

What? Hubi may seem nice but his behavior towards the chair umpire was simply unacceptable. In a normal world, he should be suspended for three or six months but in the weak ITF- and ATP-cosmos where „stars“ are allowed to do simply everything (e.g. Medvedev) this will never happen. What a weak man Hurkacz is.

If you watch any of the other games where the players are above top 10, you can see much more mistakes, much more 0 sets, and not any intrigue in the games. Despite you think Hurcacz was not playing high level, I will tell you that a game that one plays, is the game the opponent allows him to play. If Hurcacz was not getting these killing slices from Grigon, then Hurcacz would be much better player. Is that so for you? Grigor slices have the strength to prevent sharp forehands attacks. He uses a lot of tools to kill the attack of the opponent. This is why the game might not look as high level to you but it is. A guess what you want to see as a game is just big strong forehands, and big strong backhands. This game had a lot of variety , nerves, jumps, aces, quite nice rainbow shots, it had everything. Now turn on any other game and look, where is the variety. The players usually know each other play only after the first set. So, the game was high level, but not anyone can be ready for the Grigor slices and variety. Hurcacz has big body, and has much less flexibility compared to Grigor. This is why usually very big body players struggle against Grigor. So you should not judje for a game by how it looked to you, but you should try to understand how the two players interacted, and how the interaction would be if the opponent was different. Also you should see technique as a beautiful weapon. Sometimes only judge can see a technique of a player. There are for example are other competitions, in which people always struggle to understand why the entetaining game, looses to the techinique, but it needs eye to know it. So don't support @amirfigo. He was seeking attention because he made comment that is purely one line, which had sound controversial and saying the big truth, but is not. He just seeks attention and that is obvious, since he is not the guru of tennis. If players are in top 10, that means for sure the tennis is not low level.

@@krasen.dimkow yes you bang on about technique however; Hurcacz has played Dimitrov 6 times , 2 times this year, so he is well aware of the game Dimitrov has , and he has also won at least one set in all but one match v Dimitrov. Today he served at over ten percent less first serves in , won 10 percent less on first serves , won 10 percent less return serves than his average , he failed to convert more than 1 of 7 breaks , and faced 8 himself. Dimitrov won more first serves against the bigger server. Hurcacz made about 45 unforced errors! Compared to dimitrovs 28. High quality might be from your perspective, but if you ask Hurcacz he e would say you are mad, as all his stats were under his norm, especially his serve and unforced errors . How does this amount to a high quality match from both players ?

This game allowed us to see that when things do not go Hurkacz's way or its hard, he breaks down and turns out to be an emotional person, accusing everyone, throwing things and even suggesting referee change to his rival. I noticed that he almost cried his heart out several times. He needs to improve his mental game asap.

He lost his mind, big time. He asked Dimitrov if he was happy for the umpire to be changed. It wasn't very good from Hurkacz - he has a very poor record against Dimitrov and I think he could see it slipping from him and he got very frustrated over it.

Goooo Dimi! To sharpen what he's got though, he needs to be flattening that high backhand downline at 1:26, not letting opponents back in the point (which'll cost him against the final boss). I'm also very pleased to see he chose to play a tactical forehand at 1:56 instead of hitting a front-facing tweener for entertainment, which is what the old, unfocused Dimitrov would've done
