OMG I just found this video and WOW. I haven't even finished it yet but it's so cool to find another classically trained operatic soprano who also organizes for a living! I am just starting to pursue my options, but I'm so excited to learn more.

I feel like we are kindred spirits, I also was a super messy but "organized" child. I too wanted to pursue a career in the arts but have been held back by imposter syndrome, and as a result have started and stopped schools, careers, etc. and have had many different jobs. I haven't started organizing yet, but as much as I'm SO DONE with retail I was considering applying to the Container Store because I want to see if being a pro organizer would be a good fit. Ive also cleaned and organized friends closets/kitchens for them. I could go on but you get the picture. 😉 Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us!! I think it's about time we normalize the not-so-straight-and-narrow path!

Great video! I’m glad to get to know how your organizing career came about. I’m an anxious person too and I have created a comfortable home for myself and my husband. It’s my safe space. There are days when the outside world is too much and I quickly retreat back to my safe space. I am a very very organized person (some of which you have influenced) and I love it. I enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for sharing with us.

I’ve been working towards my Bachelor’s in Childhood Education and recently I’ve realized how much I love to organize and how it helps my anxiety, my mental health. I help those in my life too when I can because I know it makes a huge difference. I maybe will try this path. Even if I still want to teach. Why not both? I just think you are great and this was informing and I’m so happy to hear your backstory. Thank you!

I have just kind of fallen into the idea of becoming a professional organizer and have been researching a bunch about it and now just kinda trying to see how successful organizers went about it and what their story is. Stumbled upon your page and I couldn’t have been happier. Youre bright cheerful and smiley which immediately made me click on to your video. And everything you said about yourself as a child even to the anxious bit is spot on for me. You pinpointed my anxiety to a science and I was in awe. THATS ME! I yelled with a gasp lol... My parents are military, everyone all my life has called me organized chaos.. the anxiety , the control, the comfort. Spot on. I am going to now look at more of your videos. But already I am inspired by you and feel like totally related to.. thank you for this!!

I feel the same way Kay. The outside world is so overwhelming and emotionally charged, that I need a calm space when I open my door. I used to like a lot of bright colors and glittery things (still do....lol), but I feel so much calmer and at peace with less stuff and more neutral colors. I even decided to redo my bedroom in different shades of beiges and taupes.....it is so calming. Love your videos!

You've have a very varied life for such a young person. That shows your upbringing. My parents, much like yours, let me do my own thing. That's a wonderful thing. Thank you so much for sharing. Just found your channel and subscribed. Thank you for this wonderful video. I also work in retail (not Container Store though), and find out working on the floor doing organizing/sizing/folding/helping customers are satisfying. I love to see things organized and neat, although, yeah you know with retail that might survive for only one hour or less. But still it makes me happy to make things organized. Now I’m really considering about another side hustle doing home organization because I love organizing and find comfort in organized spaces. The thing is, having live in the US for only 3 years now have me needed to learn new things in the US that I didn’t have in my home country in SE Asia. That, to be honest, holds me from being completely confident in myself, being afraid what if I did wrong to US people/house/etc just because some things I’m still not familiar with 😢. That kind of worry. In the meantime, I’ll keep watching more of your videos. Encouragement is welcome! 😊

New subbie as of last night! My organizing challenge: I live in a very old house, and (for the most part) we’ve chosen keep it’s character and not gut it and turn it into a modern home. Storage space, closets are small, but we do have a big basement and attic. I think it would be so helpful to have someone come with fresh ideas and eyes and help with organizing! Just found you 15 minutes ago... love love love you. Thank you for giving me some language for things I haven't been able to articulate... imposter syndrome, being anxious and controlling those things we can. I'm naturally very organized and I've always explained it as chaos in my brain and a need to balance it with external order yet, it didn't fully define my experience. Order is definitely a control issue for me plus, I can get overwhelmed by too many patterns, colors or things. It's a visual/aesthetic thing for me. That said, I love patterns, colors and things -- learning to create a cohesive way of living with all these elements by establishing order was the trick for me... I get that much needed sense of balance and CONTROL. Thank you, I subscribed and will be exploring your other videos and awaiting new ones.

When I was about 3 years old, I was obsessed with organizing my stuffed animals in a line and placing hats on them (of course I had to make sure nothing was crooked 😂). Then as I got older, I would say that I was pretty organized with my mess as well. Everything had a spot (despite it seeming like utter chaos). When I went to college, my space was obscenely organized. I had a roommate who hated me and would touch my stuff and I noticed bc a pen would be facing the wrong way, a crumb would be on my bed (and I NEVER ate on my bed), etc. Thats the time of my life that I was thriving since I was so organized! Fast forward 6 years and I’m miserable bc my husband is such a messy person and I can’t have anything organized without him messing it up 😭 I’ve gotten better at ignoring it but organizing and STAYING organized is so therapeutic. I just wish others would realize that and take it seriously when they live with someone else 💔

🙋♀️. Hello Sweetness, I'm your newest subbie. 👏 You are ssooo precious and I can tell I'll be learning a lot from you and I think that's pretty cool. When you were talking about "Imposter Syndrome", I've never heard it called that, but I totally get it. It occurred to me a long time ago that if you have a gift - like organizing is one of your gifts - it's hard to remember that not everyone has that ability, not everyone can do it so (almost) effortlessly, so it's worth it to those people whose gifts lie in other areas to pay you for your super power abilities. Does that make sense? Hope so. Anyway, it's nice to be here, nice to meet you, and I look forward to more of your vids. With love from the Southern California desert, MK ❤️☀️🌵
